Protected items - read each time or at bot start?

I'm thinking about creating a little plugin which allows you to administrate the protected items XML file, but I'm not sure whenever the bot checks the list each time it visits a vendor, or if it simply reads the list when it's started.

Not 100% sure but a few tests:
HB starts with all his configurations.
If you now delete something, HB didnt lost it. YOu can even delete the profile you are using, its "saved" in HB i think.
---> at every start HB saves the protected list items and if you change it while gaming, the bot wont react on the changes.
such plugin would be nice, but a rightclick and just deleting isnt much work ^^
