Prot VS Ret leveling?

As title says, what is the best spec to level up a paladin with kicks 1-85? Please comment.

Ret if you are botting.
Prot if you are leveling by hand.

Pretty much what fuzy said lol. Ret if your botting because, well lets be serious its not like your going to die as a paladin lol and it will lvl you quicker via fasterkills, faster turn in's on quests. Prot by hand because you just cant beat instant que's on dungeons that yeild the same if not more experiance than 3 or 4 quests that you would turn in, and in less time.

I leveled 2 paly's from 1-90 together starting 14 days ago. I level'ed 1 as prot and 1 as ret. They both ding'ed 90 the same day. Yeah ret is a little faster, but it DOES die a few times. I used CLU.

I agree with the aforementioned specialisations. Retribution is way faster for botting, you do die a couple of times but that's going to happen with Protection also. I always level in Protection when manually levelling though, instant dungeon queues.

I didn't say prot because of the instant queues, it can be useful, but it's not because of that, I said Prot if you level by hand because you have more survivability than with Ret, because Ret is very difficult to heal and you have no useful CD's, while with Prot you have a lot of CD's and a lot of defense.

Are you able to tank in retribution gear? I have been doing some reading because I plan to tank at 90 and from what all the guides say is that you cap hit an then hard cap expertise. Then you go for haste and mastery after that.

I would need to get a sword and board but from what I have read I should be able to tank more of the regular dungeons up until 90 when I would need to start getting some real expertise and gemming stam.

Does anyone have experience or knowledge of this? Dodge and Parry are supposed to be reforged now as well from what I heard.
