So since there is a ton of debate/discussion over this (as well as me getting some PMs), I figured i'd do a quick analysis post of the Pros/Cons of using ISBoxer vs using a customized script (batch file). I was pretty much in the boat of "I don't want to pay for this" as many of you are right now. However I gave it a shot (7 day trial) and actually I am quite pleased. Here's my experiences-
PROs of ISBoxer:
1-You can set CPU priorities for each D3 you are running. IE: Assign core 1 and 2 for window 1, 3-4 for window 2, etc.
2-It makes everything much much cleaner. I currently have 4 windows on my 2nd monitor, each 25% of the monitor. Each window is borderless and very easy to adjust/resize on the fly. If i need to troubleshoot one of the bots, hit a hotkey and it puts that particular window to my main monitor fullscreen. Hitting a hotkey again puts it back to a small version in the 2nd monitor.
3-It launches everything at once. For my example, it will launch the four D3s over the course of a minute or so and automatically place them in their default locations (monitor 2) perfectly. I haven't played around too much, but I would guess i could have it launch 4 versions of DB as well.
4-Different preferences / settings for each D3 instance. Helpful for remembering settings (fps, sound, default account names, etc specific to each D3 account), so you do not have to enter or change when going from botting > playing "manually". Anyone that is using 3+ accounts knows how big of a pain in the ass it is to change the username on each account before logging in since D3 will save the last account logged in with.
5-Saves on HD space. I have a ssd with 120gbs. It sucks when y ou have to use 8 or so PER D3 copy to run copies.
6-Can link up input actions. Once my bots are launched, I just click a button, move to the pw box and type in the password (since they all are using the same one). From there, I do a quick AH check for sold items (every account at the same time since they are linked) and then load up my bots.
7-If a bot dies, you can simply relaunch from via the same shortcut you use to launch the bots initially. Instead of relaunching all four, it will only do the one(s) that are missing and automatically re-size and place it accordingly.
CONs of ISboxer:
1-Price. It sucks paying yet MORE money to bot. 15 bucks for 3 months or 40 bucks for a year. A bit steeper than you might hope to pay for something like this.
2-Setup at first is a bit over whelming. There are TONS and TONS of options and configurations you can do. It took me probably 5 hours plus a support ticket to get the setup I wanted.
3-Some applications / programs don't seem to work well. As mentioned, i was trying to automatically launch DB alongside my D3 accounts and I have yet to figure out how to achieve this.
Again, the above friend code is NOT something I'm getting paid for or anything, I just get a few free days. I am in no way affiliated with ISBoxer
