Thought i'd throw this in here.
So.. I've recently stumbled across that addon "AVR"
(Augmented Virtual Reality)
http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info16249-AVR.html
And its been a great help to me when creating my profiles.
Here are some examples of what i use it for and why it helps.
A mini guide as such.
Click the images to Enlarge.
Ok so first, lets start with the addon screen.
Found in the interface options, addons tab.
From here we click "Open Scene Editor".
This will bring us to a menu with various settings.
We create a Scene, Just clicking Create a Scene.. name it what you wish, set the dropdown box to your current zone, then we scroll down to the bit we want.. the shapes!
The shapes allow me, to accurately mark my hotspots and blackspots.
In the following Image you can clearly see, i've created a Green hotspot, with a random radius, this is just a demo, radius of 10 yards, coloured green, for my mind to see and think, i have a hotspot here.
Next we look at Blackspots.
The Main Reason i use this!
I mark mine as red.. again with HB2 allowing a feature of "Radius="20"" for example, i can accurately mark out a 20 yard radius circle to know how large my blackspot is.
(Random size in this image for demonstration)
and finally, Grind Areas or "Where i want to Grind".
This is handy to shove over a whole area before i add hotspots, so i know where roughly i will be grinding and where my mobs are located.
I use a yellow/orange circle for this.
Again added a few hotspots in the image as examples (not accurate sizes just estimates of where i want to be)
So.. hopefully like myself you will find some use for this, if you need it.
I personally like it, i like being able to see exactly where i placed hotspots/blackspots ect.
I dont use it for huge profiles, mainly just for marking areas i grind, smallish areas, just as a visual guide.
Some of you may prefer other addons, or none at all, im just here to show you there are other things out there that are handy if you want them.
Enjoy!
p.s i'd advise you to mess around a bit first, you can always delete scenes, get to know things, have fun graffiting landmarks ect.
(ignore the zip attatchment, its for if imageshack goes down/loses images i'll have them to re-up here)
