Profile creating help

Hello,

I am looking for a somewhat more detailed profile guide, no disrespect to the creators of GB but the profile (the english one) that is already put up is extremely hard to understand and follow for me. If any of the somewhat more experienced profile creators would like to waste a couple of minutes on me then that'd be grand.

I've downloaded both Carographer and Routes, extracted and put them in my addon folder. I've also downloaded EditPatrol and to be perfectly honest I'm clueless what this means "Come on start times EditPatrol and let the cards generate, which will take several minutes. If the generating EditPatrol is finished it can close it again because it is just not in use. " (taken from the sticky guide).

I've set up a profile with the routes mod, modified it to my preferences and whatnot. After that I've started up GB, logged in and pressed record, I started following the set route with the appropriate altitude I want however what I fail to understand is at what point GB records my movements;

If i steer with a mouse it obviously wont have the nice curvy movements like that in the profile itself so when does GB decide to put a waypoint down in that way?
If I rightclick with click-to-move i get the movement type like with all the profiles (from one point to the other) but that entirely messes up the altitude.
If I go from waypoint 1 to waypoint to, turn with my keys then would that not create a pause in the profile?

What I'm trying to figure out is "at what point during the recording session does GB register a waypoint?"

Any tips you may have are entirely welcome, I've been messing around here for about 4 hours and am still clueless!
