Problems with FLYING

Hi,

I have a flying plugin, and when i run honor buddy it says disabling flight checks like its ment to, but he wont fly, with all profiles, even if it is on the other side of the map, he just ground mounts and runs there.

any ideas ??

It does not fly all the time in Kickz profiles. Let it run for awhile it will fly eventually.
I guess it depends on if its better to ground mount then fly it will use the ground mount.

It's flown once in the last 2 hours of watching, and there hasn't been (nor can I think of a time when there would be) a beneficial time to use a ground mount.

HB questing will, by default, use ground mounts. If and when the profile writer writes specific code to fly, it will fly. Writing the flying routines takes time though so the profile writer will generally only use flying when it's absolutely necessary or when he has time to spare (and the latter is quite unlikely as adding more quests will generally have a higher priority then adding flying).

So don't look at it as "a beneficial time to use a ground mount" but look at it as "there is no absolute reason not to use a ground mount"

As said; it's a huge lot of work. It's described in the profile and in the bot that it only flies occasionally. If you want it to fly more often I suggest you start writing profiles.

But lets get something perfectly clear...

Lack of flying is a failure of the HBcore.​

A big hat tip goes to the profile writers that worked around this massive HBcore failure in the best, but gimped, fashion they could. Many thanks also go to the developer that made the FlyTo behavior available for profile writing.

Flying is not a profile writer's problem to solve; however, they tried to adapt as best they could. If you want to complain about flying, write some BugTrackers complaining about the HBcore.

Don't worry about it Kick, after hearing how it's difficult for you programmers and seeing it fly a couple more times in the last 9 hours I guess it's fine how it is. I just figured that paying for the flying key meant it would actually fly when it could. All good though.

aye, flying key is mainly for ab / gb2, but some questing profiles use it, too

mwah, I'd call it a limitation, not a failure. It's not advertised as flying full time so it works as designed.

/agree on all the kudos to the profile- and behaviour writers though.
