I've been botting WoW for a long time (over 4 years based on my forum profile 
) but never for profit. So far, it's just been a hobby to try and get some extra gold/mounts/achievements/etc. for my toons. It's been a good run, never been banned or suspended and I've even written some profiles for fun.
Last year, out of curiosity and just to experiment, I bought a few extra accounts and ran 15 groups of 5 man teams to 80-85 using Dungeonbuddy (RAF) on several different servers over the course of 3 months. So I'm sitting on about 75 toons, plus 20 or so other toons I already had, on 6 different accounts. I'm currently only using 3 of the accounts for personal use, I let the other ones lapse after the RAF time ran out.
So I'm wondering if it makes sense to put some of these accounts to work for me and try selling some gold? I'm almost 34, I have a wife, a 2 year old son and another baby on the way. I have a good paying job and a rental property so I don't NEED the money, but an extra couple hundred bucks per month wouldn't hurt. If I run a few bots like 6-8 hours a day, would I be able to make enough gold and mitigate the risk of being banned to make it worth my while?
Just looking for some honest answers and tips from anyone in a similar situation who might be making some cash. If you're a competitive gold seller or whatever, and you don't want the extra competition I completely understand but please don't crap in my thread. Thanks!
