I got a couple questions on finding a private buyer

Im trying to maximize my profits and from what im told i watch trade for people that what items in bulk and ask them if they constantly need those mats. Please correct me if theres a better way.

How do you settle a price?
Should It be a set price if the AH fluctuates?

Over all I just need some tips.

And had anyone tried making 1-450 profession lvling mats packs and selling them?
If so how did they sell and how much did you sell them for?

Normally I just AH most stuff but if your looking on finding a private buyer gbank it and wait for the moment I'd say otherwise I would post in trade. Bundle packs don't work well 1-450 because then you gotta mine copper and all that low ore stuff. If you want to maximIze profit what I have been doing was making titansteel bars and selling them but they dropped dramaticly on my server to 40g per. If ore sells for less then 12g 50s on the ah best bet is to smelt it and vendor it. 2 stacks of ore = 1 stack of bars, 1 stack of bars vendors for 25g so say someone is selling ore 10g a stack you can buy and smelt for profit but it isn't wise to ah the bara because it's rediculously exspensive to post and you'll lose $$.

What I do is indeed ask if they can or want it on regular basis, if so then I'd say lets keep it this price.
They will say, yeah sure.
But prices will change on ah anyways, just make it a few silver less then ah or few gold and it should do.

I did so on my other realm and everything that was farmed was selling as hot buns when it got into the Guild bank.

Dude your are my idol :P
I want to make 700k+
TEACH ME! ;]

It seems everything i farm gets taken over.
a week ago i had a bunch of adamantite ore and it was selling about 50g a stack when some smuck farms it and drops the price to 30g a stack.

but does he drop it in the same amounts you do? as in the quantity.

Also try to lurk around to see what is open or whats a easy going market.
My 700k+ doesn't only come from farming alone, my farming brings in 40-60k each week when I farm.
But it goes higher and higher as soon as I play the AH, easy market to start is enchanting mats cause they don't request a fee for it so quite easy market to control.

Check what proffesions you have and use all your cd's as much as you can to benefit from that too.
I have 3 alchemist now, and all 3 use the cd to transmute each day, which brings in 3x epic gems whichever is worth the most.

also using my LW to make leg enchants when i lvl a new char @ my grizzly hills profile, they sell for 120g per piece on my realm.
Then I try to do dailies pretty much each day If I got the time.

and then in 1 week I'm one happy farmer:)

bad luck you little sad panda? :p

You have to be flexible in the world of WoW when it comes to making gold. Prices are dictated by the AH and you really should not be underselling by much to a private buyer. Try to think of it like this. You are providing a service for a buyer, rather than supplying materials. The buyer doesn't want to farm, can't farm, doesn't have the profession whatever. When someone announces in trade they are looking for a specific item that you have you can offer it to them at a reduced price, but not so low that you can't make money. I constantly keep 3 gbanks (6 tabs each) full of mats or potions, when someone says " i need saranite in bulk" I immediately check the AH for the current price and offer it to them at 3-5%. If they don't want to pay that much then I save it. It's no loss really both JC's and Blacksmiths use it when leveling. Same goes for herbs an up and coming Alch may need loads of herbs to level I can provide those. As I said in another post I keep a main logged in and monitor trade for people needing items while I am out farming or leveling on 2 other accounts. The other day someone was looking for a Alch to make speed potions, with his mats. I sent him a tell asking how many he needed, he said 40 and he didn't care I wasn't potion spec'd. In our conversation I told him I was flask spec'd and he wanted to know if i could make him some flask. I ended up selling him 40 flask in total for his raid nights plus a tip for making potions. Now he just sends me mats in the mail and I make him potions or flask with the tip attached. I do this for all my professions. :)

thanks guys for your tips :] max professions im running JC, Enchanting, Alch, and soon BS and Taloring

JC you will need to buy every pattern you can get even those that are rep patterns, many don't get them all (least on my main server) so it might help you sell more. I make ok money on enchanting, Alch seems to be more for me and inscription.

My professions are:
JC
Enchant x2
Alch
Herbing
Mining
Skinning
Inscription
Tailoring x2
Engineering (only real money from choppa)

i have toons on both factions too. i noticed that on my server alliance are more expensive. prob cause the ratio is 1:4 horde. so should i take the time to transfer mats to sell on the alliance side?

the cost of moving mats through the neutral ah really doesn't justify it. Plus you have to have your alliance toon standing there to buy the goods before someone else gets them.

I do not. The reason being is I want to make sure I have all my mats in the gbank. Any greens or blues that are BoE I usually just disenchant for mats

God damit! Copper Ore, Sells for higher than Saronite ore!, just Go for copper ore then!

And this is where most of you screw up.

You are looking at prices of lowbie items that have spikes in their prices.
Almost none of the "old world mats" have a steady demand on any given server at any given time.
Demand goes up(someone is leveling BS or JC or something) prices go up...for a day or two....after that they reset to their default...dirt cheap price.

On the other hand WOTLK mats have a steady demand and fluctuate very little.

What I am trying to say is that you will lose time/money if you think that you can only farm copper and make bajillions out of it.

On the other hand having a nice stash of this "old world mats" and cashing them in when the prices spike is a great idea ^_^.
