Pre-paid cards vs. RAF gold trading

So, with people now reporting that the RAF exploit does not qualify you for Diablo III and that in some *rare* cases Blizz is taking the time away from you, does anyone here trade gold for the 2 month game cards? I saw a thread both confirming and countering the statement that people who sell RAF are using stolen credit cards and that is why you may lose your time. My question is, for gold sellers/buyers who offer the 2 month game-time, do you think they are for sure using stolen credit cards b/c it is less profitable than using RAF? Basically, do you think that my account be flagged, will I get a chargeback and/or lose my time if I trade my gold for the cards instead of RAF time?

The person i use for trading gold for gamecards sends me a pic of the back of the actual scratched gamecard, so i doubt they are stolen in any facet. Also never had any problems with this person. Former Pirox member such as myself that I have used for over a year for anything gold related. Selling, CDKeys, GTC, etc...

Can you give some evidence that Blizzard stated that RAF months don't count?

Because I can tell you from my own personal account that it does. I have the Annual Pass that is due to expire in Oct 2012 and my account has not been paid for in 3-4 months now. I currently have 10 pending RAF months on my account and 2 expired months that I've used.

As for how these people are doing it, I'm not so sure its always stolen CC's. It seems to me that Blizzard is usually pretty good about disabling accounts that have gotten things from chargebacks. I don't recall if I've heard anyone losing their account due to a loss of the RAF months.

As for how they would do it otherwise...There are plenty of sales that sell Vanilla wow boxes retail for $5 or less. That's all you need to supply a RAF month to someone is a Vanilla WoW key. So its very possible that these are legit RAF accounts too.

So yes it is all stolen CCs, it mostly takes up to 6 months for the fraudent people to restore their balance, but most likely they never get their money back as its virtual goods and its much more frustrating to battle over the CC Issuer than lose 13 eur.

I don't understand what you are pointing out Bossland. I know for a fact that you can use a Vanilla WoW key to pay for the 1 month of required time in order for the referring account to get their free month. I also know that its not hard to occasionally buy Vanilla keys for $5 or less. What makes you say that they are all fraudulent?

So with that in mind you pay $5 for a vanilla account that you get something like 10-15k gold for it. On top of that you now have access to an account that could be used for anything at all including farming up even more gold if you wanted. I would guess they use them a lot for spamming and gold trading.

I'm not at all saying that none of them use stolen credit cards, but I can tell you that they are not all using stolen credit cards.

There are actually a few sellers on a perticular site who have been in business for more than a year, I actually kinda believe what Anegus is saying.

As I myself got three accounts with 12 months raf and still running.

Though I have to admit, it seems reasonable to me that if the business is not profitable anymore, the sellers might just do a chargeback to get all the money back. Resulting in your account at a negative status and you have to pay. But by then I got enough profit out of the raf time and probably will just quit WoW.

That's funny because that's not what he said at all. He linked me to 2 articles that talk about RAF, and what benefits you gain, but does nothing to describe what constitutes valid payment for RAF time. Whether Bossland thinks that these sellers are using stolen credit cards or not, there are sellers who are not using stolen credit cards. Use reputable sellers that have long histories of good credentials.

indeed i agree that is may hurt players and cc holders but in most cases the CC holder get refoundend the spent cash when u are using the RaF gametime so this is the best way to buy game time for gold in my opinion....

You NEED to PAY 1 month on the RAF account, to give 1 month free on the recruiter.

I believe nearly all of that sellers are fraudster. Or do they have an Imprint on their web pages? It is it just an MSN/Yahoo you contact ?

It is a big fraud machine that gives them stolen money not less.

well u obviously did not get what i said i say not support these player cause i pay game time legit from Wow-Europes site charged from a CC i do NOT support the sellers im saying in most cases it is not hurting the CC holder to buy game time from these ppl and the dealing with stolen cc is already waaaaaaaay out of controll...

You cant fraud 60 GC afaik. Therefor these will never be cheap.
Its up to you to choose to either support huge RAF fraud machine going or to pay much more for legit and safe 60GC gametime.

And when it goes to buying legal stuff (like GC or any CD-Key) - it is usually cheaper to just sell gold ur regular way and buy GC or key off some good shop like offgamers.
Goldbuyers usually charge much more.

Yes you can! When you send the RAF invite it sends a link that allows the person to create a free starter edition account. They then can simply add a full vanilla key to their account that will enable their account to be a full account, and that will therefore give the free month to the referring account. You do that for 12 seperate accounts and boom you have 12 months of free RAF time that looks very much like this:

I'm not denying that you have made many RAF chains, but I GUARANTEE you that you CAN subscribe the referred account with a vanilla key to make it a non-starter account and therefore gives the free month to the referrer.

Give it a try I'm sure you have more than enough use for the account. If its no longer working then perhaps Blizzard changed it at some point, but as of a 3 weeks ago it was working just fine.

Deny it all you want, maybe EU is different but having personally done it MANY times.
