Hi there "buddy's" ;)

I'm getting sick of leveling/honor farming/archeology-ing.
My account has characters with some rank 1 gladiator titles, and quite some chars (all done manually so far).
How "safe" would you guys say it is for me to bot? I've only been banned once or twice for a 3h ban, for some cursing or whatever.
I'm planning to bot some chars to 85 and farm some archeology/bg's with it (I wont use it for gold making).
I would most likely put it on my laptop next to me, and play some other games / watch some tv etc while it's botting.

Is it 100% ban-proof if I bot and I'm almost always arround my laptop? so when people whisper me I can reply etc.

First rule of botting: NEVER bot on an account you don't want to lose.
NOTHING is 100% ban-proof..........NOTHING
 
It is not 100% ban proof, no.

From my experience, I bot 3 accounts (including my main) quite regularly for over 1 year and have never been suspended or banned, or even reported as far as I know.
I mostly use gathering, archaeology, automated combat rotations and fishing profiles. I don't bot PvP very much.

I have been very bored of manually playing WoW since Cata, and the game itself does not interest me much anymore, so I am fully prepared to lose all my accounts.

But botting... now that's fun. :)

The way I look at it is, what's the point in worrying about bans when I wouldn't be interested in playing the game anymore without Honorbuddy anyway?

The day I get banned (and I guess I will eventually) I will swear a bit, then laugh, and then think to myself 'Thank fuck. No more wasted hours on this shit!'
Have a think about whether or not you would feel the same.

Edit: I should have mentioned, I haven't once regretted buying HB - great product, great community.
 
What other posters said before me really, of course being right next to the laptop running the bot means you can instantly respond to any issues/whispers which will cut down on any issues.

1) kick rocks
the rest) read #1

unless you're botting 24/7 it's the safest bot out there

if you bot 24 / 7 no one can save you

so just don't be stupid and bot 24 / 7 and you'll be fine. This bot rocks almost as much as I do :)
 
I'm botting my and my wife's account for about 3 to 4 years now on and off.
Started with Glider Elite + Ppather, few others and ended with Honorbuddy atm.
Both accounts are main accounts for either of us (my wife would kill me if I lost her account, hahaha).
If you bot 'smart' then there's no reason for you to loose it.
Botting is taking a risk, which always come at a certain cost.
The bigger the risk you take (eg 24/7 running) the bigger the cost will be (Possible ban).

You can go a long way with common sense in usage (bot like you would play for example).

What I do to make my self feel safer, and idk if it actually does anything.

I use a proxy and change my passwords. I have been suspended before and got it over turned using this metthed.

Have been considering this also, like claiming "my acc was hacked" or something.
 
One more question if possible ;P

I'm wondering is it possible to get banned if i'm ALL the time arround the laptop with the bot running?
It's a 11,6" laptop, that i can carry arround my house all the day so i can always watch the screen, and type some random stuff with my guild.

Is it possible for blizzard to do a patch that suddenly detects the bot and banwave everything related?
 
anything is possible. like everyone said there is no guarantee that you will not get banned
 
Per your question about Blizzard updating Wow to detect the bot.
That would in one way force a disconnect of all users, and a mandatory download of the update.

The other way would be a sneak update while Wow.exe is running. This would update the anti-cheat system in wow. We call this system "Warden".
The Buddy Team monitors Warden, what it's doing and such, and if it all of a sudden starts doing something it has never seen before ALL Honorbuddy users worldwide would be disconnected from HB Servers, and HB would then close and disconnect from Wow.exe, saving all the users.
 
So if i'm 100% supervising the bot and actually chatting in game it shouldn't be possible to get banned?

would not bot if i had rank 1. if u plan to level a new character i would make a new account in same lastname and transfer it at lvl 85

Have been thinking about that also ;-), might do that then, just don't want to risk my r1 chars either.

Does anyone know where to get cheap cd-keys etc? It would get quite pricy though, like 50 for keys, 20 x-fer, 25 honorbuddy, thats like 100 euro almost.
