Possible to get an long banned account back?

Hey! so my account got permanent banned back in 2011 for using a gatherbuddy like bot. I first got an warning with 72 hours ban and did bot after that also and it got permanent banned. I heard a rumor that you can get long lost accounts back? Would bring back great memories that account.
