possibility to avoid mass pull of mobs?

Hey guys,

short question:

At the moment my toon (gathering) dies severaltimes a session. Mostly because of pulling to much mobs.

He sees a note, rides trough 2 mobs... 3 mobs.. 5 mobs. jumps from the mount, starts gathering, failed, fight ~8 mobs, dies.

How can i prevent such situations? Can i tell him to avoid mobs?

atm i use the profitmaster herbing profiles and a paladin or monk toon. both are ilvl ~790.

check under CR settings if you have mass pull enabled
