Well, it's quite obvious that all we approve botting, but do you approve all botting motivations?

Personally I think that leveling, farming archeology or fishing and grinding mats for our personal crafts is the borest thing ever invented (well, maybe the first character is funny to level, but the 10th: omg!) ...but... I also think that botting BGs, Arenas and Auctions is the worst thing a player can do. We pay 13 euro/month to play, why players bots 100% of the content? No sense. For me. For you??

Depends how you look at it. I completely hate PVE in any game including grinds, professions, raids, dungeons, leveling, leveling crafts etc. What I like is BG/Arena. Blizzard is forcing me to pay repairs even tho I don't get gold from rbgs/arenas. Blizzard is forcing me to use some crafted/legendary gear in order to be #1 in pvp. So while I pay 13e, they change the entire game every once in a while, destroying classes (come cata - shadow priests) slaming us with overexpensive mounts (does it really have to be 24k?), and all I wanna do is play arenas. So yeah, I'm gonna bot the hell out of everything I have to do in order to play arena, and then just login and play :)

Blizzard isn't selling gold, and yet they make only 1 of a kind mount (Vial of Sands) and slam a huge price. I understand the concept of a flush, but goddamn it make 2 for cheap players that don't farm 24/7. Oh and ITS JUST A GAME :D

I think that seriously, without bots, the game would be funless.
I mean, I only started botting a few months ago, but I always knew the existance of bots on the game.
I'm playing wow for 3 years now, and I'm pretty sure that if bots did not exist in the game, players would not change their enchants and gems with the frequency they do, the economy would just suck in every server (you would have to pay like 300g for a stack of herbs, and so it goes.)

I will just give you an example, and to be honest, I won't say that this cannot be generalized, because it can.

So far, the only type of gems Blizzard did not make available for players to farm on gathering nodes/honor, are the epic cata gems (and yet you have yellow and green sold for honor.), and now I'll ask you: How much do you pay for a Queen's Garnet on your server? And how much do you pay for an Inferno ruby?
I'm pretty sure that the proportion will be like: around 1200-1500g (if you're not on illidan) for the epic, and 100-200g for the rare.

That 1000% difference is what bots do: Make everything "buyable" for everyone.

i do as long as you dont effect other people, that includes not doing things like flooding the AH, or grinding mobs in a place where they need them for quests and stuff like that.

I wish the Cataclysm epic gems were that cheap on my realm, and the same goes with the rares. Cata epics, uncut, are selling for roughly 3-4k each, and the cut ones, oddly enough, are selling for 5500-6500g each. Rares, such as the inferno ruby, sell for 300g or more, uncut, and around half the uncut price, for cut.

Mostly I bot to farming mats or to level alts if I'm not in much of a mood to level by hand, I do sometimes make use of lazyraider if I'm feeling particularly... well... lazy :D

I perfer PVE over PVP and never bot in dungeons or raids and I feel its still a little too dangerous and looks too bottish to bot PVP so if I do end up PVP'ing its normally lazyraider doing the work and I'm just handling movement and positioning (I play mostly healers on my main account).

I do all my professions by hand once I have the mats from farming (my bs, jc, enchant etc) since me and professionbuddy don't get along at all

Without bots prices of items will be up like 500% so there is a good thing.

Queens garnets are down to ~650g or so on my server =\

IF it doesn't totally screw someone over im happy. My moral compass varies when botting BGs, but then i just think, the bot probably plays better than me...

As crazy as it sounds, I think WoW would be 10x better without bots. Because gold botting and gold buying gives players who are richer in real life, a high advantage. Gold botting also puts people who sell legit mats, out of buisness because botters usually sel them alot cheaper. But because botting will never stop, you might aswell join them and stay rich, insted of staying poor.

It would just scale down. Right now gems are 1000 gold but thats easy to make. If u take bots out, it will go up to 2-3k but it will be really hard to make. Economy would die :-)

Not really Blizzard always tries to keep the economy right, which means if that will happen they would just increase the amount of gold you receive from quests and so on.

Leveling:
Yes, after nearly 5 years and rerolling on new servers several times, if I had to hand level toons I would just not play anymore.

Leveling Professions:
I play horde and there's not really any prof leveling profiles save for the alchemy, fishing, and mining/herbing ones. If there were profiles for the other profs for horde I would be all over that shit.

Farming Mats:
I farm for my guilds raid consumables and enchants, I don't flood the AH nor sell to private buyers, everything my bot farms gets used by myself or for my raid so I don't really care.

Honor/Arena:
I tried the bot out in arena, never again. As for BGs, I only bot healers in BGs and 9/10 times my bot has the least amount of deaths and top of the total heals. With the new BG buddy following the large packs of players, instead of randomly doing it's own thing, I feel it's actually an asset to the overall group, at least if it's a healer.

Rare Mobs:
It's not like they will never spawn again. My farmer killed Poesidus this morning and I kind of just meh'd.

Gold Selling:
I just assume that the people selling gold are the people who flood the AH and piss off everyone else by driving down prices, so I'm borderline on them. To each their own, but I'm still like not a fan because they're te main reason the spotlight is on us I guess.

I personally only bot 1-85, because I hate leveling and I enjoy almost everything else.
And in my opinion, botting leveling doesn't affect other players, so it's fine.

Agree 100%. And a new 85 needs gems and enchants (and more), so it's good for the economy. It's a plus =P

Whether you bot just to level or for mats or for gear it's still botting, your still 'cheating'.
I have lost count the amount of times my healer has stopped a group from wiping in HCs and raids. Not to mention the BG Heals. DPS through the roof and higher than MUCH better geared people in raids.

I don't really farm for mats, like most only for myself and guild potions/feasts. But if that's what your into then more power to you. As far as the AH goes anyone with half a brain can ruin an AH in a minute if they know how to use TradeskillMaster or Auctioneer. And they too will get "abuse of economy" mail whether they bot or hand play.

Botting in Arenas is just dumb. Not that i am against it but the bot is just not good, read smart, enough for that. I have done it a few times with very limited success pairing up a pair of bots and using Lazyraider to control and Partybot for follower. Unless you come up against a complete rere or another bot team you lose 8 times outta 10 and the chance of reports are much higher.

People that want to sell gold are more than welcome to do it as far as i am concerned. Doesn't hurt anyone including Blizz since they get the buyers and sellers subs every month.

And Professions are just a giant PITA to do by hand. End of the day as long as your botting makes the game fun for you then bot however you damn well please :)

I respect all botting, to a certain point. As long as they are minding their own business, not ninjaing people, being careful and not abusing it, no problem. I casually bot, for leveling and just my own gold, I'd never sell gold just too risky if not done properly in my opinion...but hey, you're paying money for the client, so they just do whatever :p.
