pokemon in gym with ban

does anyone know what happens with the pokemons which are in gyms when an account gets banned?
will those pokemon stay in the gym until someone kicks those pokemon out of the gym?
or will the be removed from the gym as soon as the account gets banned?

the entire gym falls and all get removed including the legit players in it i believe .
that seems to be what happened to mine

I lost my accounts in the first banwave, but they stayed in the gym for over a week after the ban.

sumfool, can you tell me what the gym level was when you got banned and what the cp was of the lowest pokemon? it might be that the gym was taken over and with this information it might be clearer for me if that might be the case

Not true. My account got banned in the first wave and my pokemons are still in some of my gyms. They only dissapear when someone battles down your gym
