Pokefarmer causing internet spikes

I have been experiencing huge internet spike/lags when playing other computer games with pokefarmer running in the background. It happens every 5-10 seconds or so. Does anyone else experience such problems too? Please help, thanks.

Experienced the same.. not while playing but in my normal actions on desktop. It freezes for a second or two and then continue. I am not sure if its the same issue, but when I go to chat window the first letter I write doesnt appear for some reason.
