I am wondering whether GGG has a way to identify a specific installation of the game. I am trying to avoid sandboxie/VMs by having my bots run shifts on a single PoE installation (spoofing mac and with VPNs for the different bots), but can they still see that the bots are running from the same executable/installation?

I read about this on the forum a couple of days ago, but now when I tried to search for it the anti-spam refuses to let me. Thanks for any replies.

I wrote about it. Many game creators are using such GUID of game installation (generated at first run) to recognize accounts using the same machine. It's more precise way than anything else besides MAC. But I don't really know if GGG is using such technique in their game. If they do it, using Sandboxie with the same PoE installation will not help you at all. You would need to download the whole game again in another folder (copy paste wont do it).

I think that talking about game security is against forum rules so you should abandon this thread.

Ok, thanks for the reply. How cautious are people regarding running multiple bots on one installation? Am I too paranoid? At the moment I think I will be taking off my tin foil hat and crossing my fingers.

[Edit] Just saw Tonys reply :D, hah I guess I will just go for it.

[Edit2] Yeah I also read about discussing VMs and such is against forum rules, sorry for this, I was unable to use the search function.

@DontBeAfraid
Maybe you just say that to get me to waste my time to reduce botting competition, or maybe you are a part of GGG trying to get me to do something that would allow you to identify me. Omg omg omg. . . double tin foil, duck and cover.

true story: met a girl online and i honestly believed she worked for a gaming company to spy on me for a long time. well now she's my gf :o

i think i went through all possible kind of imaginable paranoia. you probably dont even wanna know what i all do to make my vms unique. probably 90% not needed, but in case something changes from GGG side - well I AM PREPARED :D
