tl;dr - OldGrindBot is going away really soon for 3.0. It's only still around because it still has a lot of relevant code in it, and people have private plugins that rely on it so there's no reason to remove it if nothing is broken with it (API/game wise, not design).
I'm slowly working on adding basic equipping feature to OGB, but the highest priority right now is solving design issues that make OldGrindBot and OldRoutine so terrible to use and "extend". We have ExVault working on MapBot and QuestBot (and the new Leaguestone plugin specifically for those), both of which have surpassed what our initial directive was with EB in providing a simple grind bot, but our Routine situation is still truly pathetic. I'm very aware of this, and it pains be continuously seeing people struggle with what's in place, so I'd like to get some things in place to try and address that before 3.0. One of those things was in the last update with the code compiler update. Another similar update is planned really soon to open more doors to new stuff.
Anyways, there's only a limited amount of time before the 3.0 beta and everything changes again in this game, most likely causing massive EB downtime and API updates, so in this short and stable window we have, there are some things that are very important to focus on while we can. As usually though, people in the community are welcome to contribute and share bigger and better things if they feel it's worth the time and effort. It's only been 5 days since the stable Release build for 2.6 was made, during which time support for the Talisman league was added for the first time (it was not supported at all during the original league duration) so all is not lost yet for OGB when it comes to handling leaguestone basics.
