I have copy and pasted the key into the username, does not work
I have double checked to see for spaces in the fronts/ends, does not work
I have manually typed the key and checked for spaces, does not work
I have cleared the settings folder and tried the above, does not work

what can I do?

for starters it helps if you keep any support issue you might have to 1 thread, instead of bumping other peoples threads and causing a whole lot of mess and confusion as to where people are actually supporting you.
now what are you trying to log into?

just insert the key you got in you're mail in the upper box..
hit login, and you're in ;D
