The pet bots and pet plugins have not had any significant work done on them since 2012. They are a mess and none of them work quite right. There is plenty to work with and plenty of interest as the old threads are over 100 pages long. They just need to be updated or revamped. I have gone from 96 to 100 on three characters just working my pets, and that was not inside the new WoD zones.
