Got this email from Blizzard: ***Notice of Account Closure***

Account Name: WOW2

Reason for Closure: Terms of Use Violation -- Exploitative Activity: Abuse of the Economy

This account was closed because one or more characters were identified exchanging, or contributing to the exchange of, in-game property (items or gold) for "real-world" currency. This exchange process negatively impacts the World of Warcraft game environment by detracting from the value of the in-game economy.

Even if this is the result of account sharing, the account owner can still be held responsible for the penalty because of the impact it had on the game environment.

We've found the above behavior is many times directly related to groups responsible for compromising World of Warcraft accounts; we take these issues very seriously. To better understand our position against exploitative activity and the risks involved, please review this article: Impact of Buying Gold - Services - World of Warcraft

The exploitative activity that took place on this account violates the World of Warcraft Terms of Use. We ask you take a moment to review these terms at Blizzard Entertainment:Blizzard Legal Documentation. Note that additional Terms of Use violations may result in more severe actions against this account, up to and including permanent closure.

If you believe your account was compromised, please go to the following website https://us.battle.net/account/support/account-recovery.html. Our support staff will assist you as soon as possible. If you are unable to access your account due to the password being changed, please visit our Login Support site here: https://us.battle.net/account/support/password-reset.html

For any disputes of this action or further information on exploitive activity, please visit the Account Administration Overview and contact page here: Account Administration Overview - Battle.net Support

I literally made this account a week ago, leveled to 78 using Kick's questing profiles then started botting in Uldum. Didn't think I'd get banned so fast since I'm on a low-pop server and most people I see here are bots--some that I've seen there for weeks, and I was the only one that reported them. Pretty lame :(

so first off you should know that botting in Uldum is very risky right now....
2nd) you are a dick for reporting other botters when you are botting yourself.
3rd) really nothing screams bot more than a lvl 78-82 in Uldum farming mats for hours....

sucks you lost your account but there are smart ways to botting and some really stupid ones and you have rung the bell of one of the dumbest botters I have seen in a good minute,.

I used to legitimately mine there a lot before, and got tired of dealing/reporting bots constantly so I decided to try HB. Most of those bots were probably gold companies hacking other players because as soon as they were banned, new ones came in within a few hours. Usually level 80s. And I farmed in Uldum from 82-84 (other levels in Wrath zones)

And also, d!ck or not but I reported them before I started botting, and I only started botting because it was literally ticket after ticket of reporting those hackers using bots that I got sick of it and finally gave in. I'd always armory check the people that I reported, and all of them were inactive accounts that last logged in a year or many months ago. So definitely evil hackers. :)

ya ur a dick for reporting people thats what u get for being like that makes blizz look into ur account too dont report other botters its messed up

i never report and if i see there bot stuck or anything i let the people know

If you read what I wrote in my prior posts, they were all HACKED accounts being used for botting, who cares if those get reported, and if anything I was helping the real account owners out. I made a second account for botting and I didn't report anyone on it. Real bad luck I guess

Stop snitchin' regardless if they're hacked or not. If the "real account owner" wanted the account back, all he has to do is pick up a phone.

You're an idiot for farming Uldum for that long.

They are not hacked accounts. They are people like you botting.

I assure you they were because 95% of every character I armoryed had their last activity be in 2010 or 2011, and had mining achievements done the day they got hacked. So, you tell me that it wasn't a hacker who specialized in getting access to accounts. Blizzard mentioned that many were hacked in their ticket replies, so I started to check for myself.

Anyway, okay I was mean for doing that before. But just a heads up, there were about 10 bots and me today and they are all offline now. Maybe it was just one angry person, but seems pretty odd.

which part of do not report bots didnt u understand? it messes up with your own account and you end up banned.

TBH Im delighted you got banned, if you report botters when your botting yourself you should be banned from using honorbuddy for good.

If all us botters reported each other there would be none of us left...

Snitches get stitches.. that said, assuming you won't repeat such silly shenanigans again, my advice is to fight the case. Say you've never sold gold, should not be hard if you've never had any gold in the first place. Obv, if you've transferred gold or valuable goods from this acc to another acc, that may be less easy (they may think "private buyer"). You have nothing to lose from disagreeing with them really.

Another option would be, I suppose, to claim you were hacked but if your IP has been consistent I don't see why they should believe you.

You have been reported enough times to get banned, contest the ban with whatever you think fits you (Giwin has posted a few templates here, and there are more around the web), when you get your account back. Lay off uldum for a while, level to 85, do enough BG's to deck your bot out in season 11 gear, gem/reforge/enchant him so he looks like a loved player. Bot your mat's again after that, but mix it up, send him to Different zones (Multiprofile - works great).

Basically you lost your bot because it is an obvious bot, in a dangerous zone, learn from it and move on. But you will probably get your account back anyway. I've recently got 2 of my accounts banned and got them both back after the same letter you got. (One was actually hacked, the hacker got it banned and unlocked, then banned again before I got access to the email account back and took it back over. Blizzard did there BS investigation and gave me the account back, and restored all the gold and the guild bank again for the second time...) These were both accounts that where 100% AFK botted from level 1 - 85 and farmed all zones for months.

For everyone harping on and on about the reporting thing. STFU and get over it, he's new here, and he hasn't reported botters as a botter. He reported as a legit player who couldn't get many nodes, guess what, botting has it's downsides to a players experience too. It's not all just sunshine and rainbows.

Thanks for being nice Atticus :) and yes, I haven't reported anyone since I started botting, it was only before when I farmed by hand did those bots bug me.

I got my account unbanned, however in about 3 days it got banned AGAIN. I was farming in Vashj'ir using a mega-route profile, and on my server there is hardly anyone there. I didn't bot overnight then after about 5 hours I got the same abuse of the economy email and appealed once more, but they denied it. Really lame :(

I was sending the ore to an alt then CoDing them to my main account, and it actually got banned about 20 minutes after I did that, and I didn't even receive the stuff I sent to my main. Maybe I triggered something? Guess I'm going to have to think of another way to get them to my main if there's a chance I can get this account back.

Blizzard does check for things like a lot of CODing of valuable items for something not of worth. That's economy abuse. Giving somebody else materials for no cost. Blizzard will easily believe it's in exchange for real world currency. Same as sending someone lots of gold in the mail. Also, you leveled your character pretty fast. Did you use quests or grinding to get there? Grinding isn't very safe... at all.
