Are you asking if this a perma ban? Or are you asking if this "IS" a perma ban without being able to reacquire it?
 
i got the same too today for 72 Hours when my druid was questing. i asked them what the fuck they are thinking and i got mine bakc after 10 minutes.
They also wrote me that the automated scripts...

Instead of retelling your story why not give helpful information on what they can do next to perhaps secure their account again?
Not trying to be smart would be a start as well.
Anything can be helpful, if you word it right.

OR
"I had the same issue. If you contact them and let them know you were not botting they may be willing to give it back. They wrote the automated scripts caught me."

Same story, just somewhat helpful.

Not to mention some people post these for advice or guidance on what to do next, some post these so that the community can be aware of the issue. Two different things.

to bad your message said 72hrs where as mine says banned just wondering what i should do wait do nothing i guess instantly do something is already passed as it was now 8hrs ago.

The way I see it, Petition it anyways, but just be careful with how you word it. You were obviously farming, but not gold selling.
So I would start off with explaining you do not buy or sell gold so you do not understand the reason for the ban. You have either gotten time off work or school and have just been spending a lot of time alone on the game gathering stuff for professions (or whatever you decide)
-Farming for 10 hours at a time is obviously bottish behavior unless you have some mental issues. This is something most people dont seem to grasp.-
The average wow player im guessing spends maybe 5 hours a day in the game if that, and does NOT spend it farming the whole time. And even if they do, thats 5 hours. Not 10, 12, 24. Something to think about when it comes to botting.

I feel there is still a chance at getting your account bank. Never give up until they tell you no.

imo they will unban you for sure. its a fault of their scripts. just write a ticket that you never sold gold.
 
idk if its considered selling gold but i mail everything i herbed and mined to an alt on a different account would that trigger this?
 
I did exactly the same with leather and cloth.. so yeah i think this triggered the ban.
 
so one last quick question they can go back and see what you've done but is it better to deny or beg for forgiveness and ask for empathy?
