So back to when the huge ban wave happened about 7 months or so ago, I received an email saying my World of Warcraft account would be banned until November of this year. However, when I went to my account management for WoW today, it says "This World of Warcraft account has been permanently closed and is no longer available for use." Did Blizz change their minds and will no longer unban in November?

Its not november yet, so id wait until that time / date they have specified if its still perm banned, contact them
supplying the email or screenshot.

Your best bet is to check this after Nov 13-14th, and answer again, as thousands of others.

yep same ** This World of Warcraft account has been permanently closed and is no longer available for use.** they changed something there new locked icon etc on battle.net

English version of site shows same text as you mentioned
Russian version shows old (original) text: Closed (sanctions)
So everything should be OK, wait till Nov 13/14 (ban may be till Nov 13 including)

The issue upon this is, that if they have contacted you via email that you are under a 6 month Ban/Suspension. After that 6 months if they have not contacted you as a business about it possibly being Permanently banned. Is a break of the contract of the ToS, and should be followed up by an attorney or such things as confining to this breach of contract. :) Just make sure you have the E-mail and that it was from blizzard as an original.

I opened a ticket to blizz about this some time back, and it`s the date in the mail that is the true status of the ban. They said that the web page will only show the raw state of the account, and not show timeframes of suspensions.

Unless you received another email from blzz saying your account has been permanently banned, you have no reason to worry. The message you're seeing is the same message that has been on the site since the bans went out. Blizz didn't make any effort to update the old text.

These same threads are popping up all the time. Unless you heard directly from blizz, there's no reason to believe that you won't be reinstated when the appropriate time comes.

before coming to the board, I also noticed this today.
I sure as hell hope that 6 months is 6 months.

Does anyone have a 72-hr ban and have the same message in their account?

The 72 hour bans always had a separate message. They didn't prepare properly for the 6 month bans.

Some said they got perm banned later on after they got the six month ban. It could be an error though saying they got perm. - Caper

Yeah same here i just noticed the perma ban, almsot got a heartattack, but people say it has been like that afgter nov 13 it will be available again, we'll see soon i guess
Noticed or not - these messages were the very same and unchanged since 13th/14th of may.
Several people already contacted support regarding this, and most of them got confirmation that its 6 months ban, but I read one or two reports that the bans were turned to permanent by the GM reviewing the petition, so I do NOT recommend doing this.
