Performance issues with 4 clients of HB+WoW running (FREEZE)

Hello,

i hope i can get some tricks and tipps here :)

I'm running 4 instances of World of Warcraft and 4x HonorBuddy on one machine.
It's a Notebook
I have some performance problems.

Everything works fine so far compared to my PC - when i start more than 2 instances on the PC then the machine slows really down.
On the PC there is an old graphics card and no SSD drive - i understand that running more than 2-3 instances of WoW + HB is a problem there.

My Notebook has:
- CPU: Intel Core i7-740QM 1.73 GHz
- RAM: 6144 MB, 3x 2048 MByte DDR3 (1333 MHz)
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M
- HDD: Seagate Momentus 5400.6 ST9500325AS, 500GB 5400U/Min
- SSD: 160 GB Intel X-25 SSD (WoW + HB are stored there)

Test Medion Erazer X6811 Notebook - Notebookcheck.com Tests - a link to the datasheet

I re-installed my Win7x64 to be sure that there are no driver files from older driver versions or something liek that
I installed .NET Framework 4.5
HonorBuddy runs
World of Warcraft ingame settings were set to the very min settings
I run World of Warcraft in windowed mode so that i can fit 4 windows on my screen with no overlapping
Starting WoW + HB is really fast and there is no problem

The problem is that sometimes (e.g. after 5 hours or 8 hours) my whole machine FREEZES and i have to hard-reset the notebook then.
The Windows clock stands still (i saw that after 1 hour) the machine does not react to anything
Sometime i get a Systray meesage that tells me the GPU drives has restored itself.

I wouldnt say its a performance problem because until the freeze the machine works very well and not slow.
What can i do to get this problem solved?
Does the resolution im runnig WoW affect the performance?
Does the window size affect the performance?
Are there hidden settings in the settings files form WoW where i can downgrade the graphics setting more?
Or is it just uncommon to run 4 instances of WoW + HB on one machine? A friend runs 9 instances of WoW + HB but not on a Notebook but rather on a PC. (THIS is really annoying me :) )

I really hope hope there are some guys that can help me or give me a hint or something.

Might be a simple overheating issue if windows is freezing up. Definitely read Aetheric's link to help tweak your system for best performance, but sometimes heat can kill...especially with a laptop. SSDs will also suffer from performance hiccups from time to time. Make sure firmware is up to date for your drive.

Tbh, you shouldn't complain about hb performance nowadays. After huge bot rebuild in my case CPU usage dropped by half - from 90-100% before patch to 50-60% now. Just make sure you did everything to get best performance, disable aero, windows search, lowest graphic settings, maxframe capped to 15-30 per seconds, disable ALL addons. They did awesome job with hb during last weeks. You might wanna search for old Bossland blog about GB and HB performace - those are 2 years old, but not outdated.

Do you mean Are Peek for windows?

Thanks for all replies so far i will look into after ib back at home

Thanks :)

I looked into this thread and have some questions:

- DirectX 11 is supportet by WoW since Cataclysm Patch 4.x.x or something so the step to activate experimental dx11 support is step is no longer needed i guess?
- Disable the core parking from 64 (100%) to 0 (0%) is that up to date? Does this only have effect with MORE than 2 cores?
- TCPNoDelay doesnt work on my Win7 i created a file with the stuff and ran it but a Systemessage tells me that this is only possible fpr registry files - but its a Notepad created files with .reg ending?
This is also NOT included in the current LeatrixLatencyFix?
- The TcpAckFrequency thing is the same that LeatrixLatencyFix does am i right?

- I dont understand the CVAR stuff or some parts of it
With this thing i can force WoW to use a specially selectet core or to just use all cores?
I'm runing the notebook with an i7 so there are 4 cores - alle 4 cores can be used to manage WoW or can i just select 1 core for every WoW instance?
How much cores are actually used by WoW? Heard about 2 cores are supportet

Maybe some know more about this

Thanks for all ya answers till here :)
