Hello,
i hope i can get some tricks and tipps here
I'm running 4 instances of World of Warcraft and 4x HonorBuddy on one machine.
It's a Notebook
I have some performance problems.
Everything works fine so far compared to my PC - when i start more than 2 instances on the PC then the machine slows really down.
On the PC there is an old graphics card and no SSD drive - i understand that running more than 2-3 instances of WoW + HB is a problem there.
My Notebook has:
- CPU: Intel Core i7-740QM 1.73 GHz
- RAM: 6144 MB, 3x 2048 MByte DDR3 (1333 MHz)
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M
- HDD: Seagate Momentus 5400.6 ST9500325AS, 500GB 5400U/Min
- SSD: 160 GB Intel X-25 SSD (WoW + HB are stored there)
Test Medion Erazer X6811 Notebook - Notebookcheck.com Tests - a link to the datasheet
I re-installed my Win7x64 to be sure that there are no driver files from older driver versions or something liek that
I installed .NET Framework 4.5
HonorBuddy runs
World of Warcraft ingame settings were set to the very min settings
I run World of Warcraft in windowed mode so that i can fit 4 windows on my screen with no overlapping
Starting WoW + HB is really fast and there is no problem
The problem is that sometimes (e.g. after 5 hours or 8 hours) my whole machine FREEZES and i have to hard-reset the notebook then.
The Windows clock stands still (i saw that after 1 hour) the machine does not react to anything
Sometime i get a Systray meesage that tells me the GPU drives has restored itself.
I wouldnt say its a performance problem because until the freeze the machine works very well and not slow.
What can i do to get this problem solved?
Does the resolution im runnig WoW affect the performance?
Does the window size affect the performance?
Are there hidden settings in the settings files form WoW where i can downgrade the graphics setting more?
Or is it just uncommon to run 4 instances of WoW + HB on one machine? A friend runs 9 instances of WoW + HB but not on a Notebook but rather on a PC. (THIS is really annoying me
)
I really hope hope there are some guys that can help me or give me a hint or something.
