Hello. So i'm planning to build proper machine for some serious multiboxing. I'd have this PC dedicated to botting and nothing else, just pure multiboxing, obviously in Archeage for time being. Question is what are most valuable resources to sustain many boxes (I'm talking 10+ without VM, with VM i guess 5 is my best bet with current hardware available), obviously SSD thats one, but i'm asking what PC? What CPU would handle many boxes (some new 4core i7 or maybe due to a lot of multitasking some 8 core from AMD?) CPU choice define motherboard pick so that one's important. Memory? Obviously the more the better, aiming for 32 gb or more if thats even possible (haven't done up to date research if 16gb pieces are out yet) but is memory speed important ? do I have to get 2400 ones? and GPU for last, I'm having 2 cards atm. One is old redeon hd 6850 that I used for like 4 years and my new card which is gigabyte gtx 970 g1 gaming. In archeage GPU doesn't seem to be under a lot of stress (i'm not talking about 200vs200 battles or something as I don't plan on doing that but about scenarios where I don't have a lot going on my screen, which is gonna be minimized anyway). Question is do you think that rather weak GPU like 6850 would handle having 10 boxes running if CPU and memory handles that already? Or GTX 970 will be mandatory in that setup? I'm really looking forward to see some opinions from you guys as I dont want to build a typical gamer machine that has to be like beast in running 1 game in 4k resolution with like 100 fps. I want to run archeage, with lowest possible graphic settings, minimized most of the time, quantity of boxes is the main factor for me, thats what I want to achieve and have it sustainable. Let me know what you think.

My opinion which i haven't tried that many or even close to it but intel i7 should be fine remember its 4 cores with hyperthreading makes it 8. Amd won't do any better and not even sure how aa likes amd cpu's. As for memory you will need as much as you can get for sure. For vm's you would need 2gb for each vm so i would say prob that much each for each client without a vm to maybe but probably a bit less, would still go by that rule of thumb though. Since only one game client should be shown at once with others minimized gpu prob doesn't have to be best one out for sure. But since you have a new gtx 970 that should be fine I would think. Even if you have 2 on screen at once it should handle it with the rest minimized. I have ran 6 wow clients on my 2nd gen 15 2500 with no problems at all on an older 460 gtx. with low graphic settings on all clients and lower resolution should be fine. Btw the 6 wow clients were all showing at same time just in isboxer.

Nice, thanks for reply mate, I can tell you Archeage doesn't like AMD's, or my AMD is just plain old (Phenom II 955 boosted edition, no matter) so after upgrading my graphic card from 6850 to gtx 970 i noticed a boost in performance but really slight and not in crowded areas which implies that already on 6850 my CPU was bottlenecking my GPU performance, or was already close to it, I think with 6850 and phenom they were working toe to toe in most cases as i built that PC with good synergy back in the days but yea in Archeage it really seemed CPU is most important.

hehe yeah for sure i can run 2 on my old core 2 duo 9600 i think it is with a 460gtx although have to set settings to lowest to do that but thats cpu thing i think not gpu really although can't say for sure.

If you're going to multibox on an AMD CPU it needs to be a Bulldozer. The 8K series does fine with AA.
A high priority is to be sure to get aftermarket cooling and overclock the CPU. Water cooling is best, but all it needs is to stay cool.
Large amounts of memory is correct, you'll want about 32GB if you have the money, otherwise 16GB should do fine.
Be sure to get a quality motherboard and video card.
An SSD is a good idea, but not needed. For the most part it only does you good with your OS. Too many reads and writes to your SSD will kill it.
The problem with the SSD is that you can NOT buy a cheap one. Cheap SSDs are usually DOA or die in about a year.
Shoot me a PM with your parts/build if you want and I'll be more than happy to help you out.

All I can say is RAM>CPU. Just bought an i7 5820k with 16 gig ram and cpu usage is at like 5-10% where ram used is full.

Lawl y're telling me that u run like 10 windows and u use 5-10% CPU max? I thought about i7 4790K tbh because its way cheaper to build a system based on previous gen and ddr 3. Do you think I'd have much higher CPU usage with 4790K?
