Question I have is will it require an HB update to be functional again, or since it's only a minor patch, should we get by unmolested?

HB Should remain fully functional, as long as the build code isn't changed.


if it is, then offsets will have to be updated and will take up to 12 hours or more.

Client side patches always change code including a version increment.
