While a Cat 1 doesn't sound very impressive, Sandy does have a few nice features which makes her interesting.

Well it is no longer a hurricane. It has become a super storm due to the fact that the warm core has been replaced by a cold core. So its no longer Cat1, but im not an expert.

Had sandy in my country couple days ago. Wasn't as powerful but left us without power for like 3 days. Its gona cause some major flooding in NY

Every time I hear "Super" put in front of any event, it just makes me think of reporters trying to hype up the news. I've heard "Super Storm" "Frankenstorm" it just sounds like hype. Regardless of how it's hyped, I hope that everyone is okay and stays safe!
