Obstacle between the target

I have a problem. I am leveling my mage . So i got many situations, i have obstacle between the target. So my mage trying to cast, but he can't! He spam the button, but can't cast becouse there is the wall or something like think between my mage and his target. How to nerf it?? I am monitoring my toon wery much, but if i not - he can stay in one play for a long time and trying to kill this mob.
