Nope, just trust them to not be suspicious of you.
You can set yourself to 'busy' but honestly, if someone is busy all the time but always online and never replying then that just makes them even more suspicious.
Best bet is to either tell them or leave if there is active players in your guild. Be careful who you tell though

I set myself to busy, but I don't have anyone who cares that I bot on my friends list. I know there WAS a method to 'disconnect' yourself from guild loot messages but I do not remember how nor if it was ever fixed. Basically you could force yourself to DC from the chat service, so whenever your bot ID'd whether it be 5 items or 15 items at once they would not be displayed into clan chat. But your clan members and friends would still be able to see you online. Honestly just bot, if someone has an issue with it just lie to them or tell them your botting(pref not over bnet whispers)
