I just want to clarify. The 6 month bans are just "suspensions". As such the account is still technically active, just can't log into the game client. That means you can still go to account management and do character transfers to accounts that are active and continue playing. Might cost you a little money to xfer the toons you want, but you won't have to wait 6 months to continue playing.

Not being banned
This is a " new " thing , cant be working as intended otherwise its a BIG SCAM from blizzard. ( just in time for the price reductions.........obvious )
You still have to follow the rules of a regular character transfer. So if you have mail or auctions it won't let you do it. And yes, it is a new thing with the non-permanent ban. It is Christmas time and they have announced Legion so the prices are going to be lower anyways. Blizzard knows that whether or not it's a permaban or a suspension that most people will purchase another license.
Quick edit: I have other information that I'm withholding so as to night bite myself in the ass. I'm not sure if it's a loophole or if they did it on purpose, but I'd rather not have blizz employees on here reading it and then "fixing" it.

Can you actually show proof of this working? I haven't been banned yet, but blizz isn't stupid enough to make it so you can transfer characters off a banned account.
You've never been able to do this in the past, and I don't see why blizz would change their system to allow this now. Even if it is a bug, it will most definitely be fixed quickly and those transfers most likely reversed, or they'll just ban your new account, too.

The one person that has transferred characters off their account started the process BEFORE they were banned. They saw the tripwire event and started the transfer process. I see nothing else from anyone else that said they were able to transfer characters after the account was suspended.

I managed to move my Rogue from my main account to my other bnet account (that was actually inactive without a sub on it). I did so a while ago, but I cannot access the AH on my phone to dump gold on my lock to transfer that, so no use transferring that.

It may not work for everyone. It may be a loophole or something they'll fix, but if any information has been helpful to you from anyone, dont forget to hit the thumbs up button. I will not respond to PM's right due to the fact that my tinfoil hat interferes with the reception of them. So far everything is working well on my secondary account as far as xfers/boosts/items/gold/etc.
