is there a Deepholm questing profile out & about? I've looked (seached feature) but no luck.

If there is one, then I didn't look hard enough.

If so, please redirect me. Also, I apologize if this isn't the correct area to make this kind of post.
 
From what I remeber deephom is kinda sorta badly meshed. So just keep an eye on your bot.

Deepholm also has many areas with mobs in battle with each other. This will cause your toon to go 'in combat' if you are near these mobs (which you must be to do certain quests). This situation causes Honorbuddy to get confused and stuck (it can't get out-of-battle to mount or move on, even though nothing is attacking your toon).

In short, Deepholm is a royal PITA because:
  • meshing is weak

  • certain areas may only be moved into with a flying mount
    Honorbuddy doesn't have native flying, so if you need to sell or repair at inopportune times, it gets stuck or lost.

  • Nearby NPCs in battle can cause perma-stucks

Deepholm is most definitely NOT AFK-able. :(

Found that out with my Embersilk profile.
If you have a mage I'm working on my plugin to check for in-combat/no targetlist, cast invis. This resets the combat and HB will then continue.
 
That's weird because I finished all the quest in Deep, roughly 1 hour and 21 minutes. I had to run some errands and came back. I was done. I'm also Horde if it makes a difference.

You weren't using Kick's profile then (which is very thorough, and may even get the zone achievement, but its been a while).

I know this because Kick's pops up UserDialogs and requires you to manually run some quests in a few places. (E.g., the flying boat isn't meshed, and about ten quests on it). I also remember Deepholm being much longer than 90mins--even to run optimally by hand.

<shrugs> I'd love to know what you did. :D

Well then I don't know what to tell you. Would you like me to show you the achievement. I know he has it set, where a dialog box appears because it appeared a few times in his Mt. Hyjal xml. I don't know what I did. I went and did some IRL stuff. Came back and I was done.
 
Not a snowball's chance in hell 90 minutes for all of the quests - not unless you're 85 in full raid gear and that's even pushing it

The boats in Icecrown have the same problem, mithinks.

There's a few issues:
  • The boats move, so if you go for 'world coordinates'--those used in typical RunTos and such--the coordinates are always changing.
    Once on the boat, you could use 'vehicle relative' coordinates, but the profile grammar and quest behaviors have no accommodations for this.

  • Honorbuddy doesn't have native flying
    Only surfaces are meshed, not the 'volume' of the game world. So Honorbuddy would be clueless as to how to plot a path to these changing world coordinates at the moment.

With that said, HBdev has managed to solve the problem of getting onto and off of water-bourne boats, zeppelins, and elevators. But, the 'hack' is that these transports must to be at a particular position (and stationary) every so often before HB can figure the path onto or off of such tranpsorts. The flying boats are not constrained similarly.

In short, the problem is considerably bigger than a 'meshing issue'. :D

ok and where is the problem with vashijr? i think HB use xyz coords, ok the meshing there will be a hard work, dont know the tool the dev uses, but isnt it possible to do?

My understanding is that the meshing tools mesh the water's surface of Vashj'ir.

The 'volume' under water is not meshed, but traversable by Flightor, except for locations that go indoors (into tunnels, cavelets, upside-down ships, or overhanging rocks). This is a Flightor limitation, that has yet to be addressed.

Unfortunately, the majority of the Vashj'ir quest hubs are in locations that are inaccessible to Flightor. A very dogged profile writer could probably get far by using the MyCTM behavior in place of all RunTos and FlyTos to indoor locations. Quest pickups and turnins would have to be bracketed with MyCTMs also wrapped inside an appropriate If condition.

This is much more work than anyone has felt like doing so far. It would also be a PITA profile to maintain when bugs were found.
