I want to know if there were anyone just using the combat guides to play and if they got banned?

There is a hunch that they are tracking players with in game glitches (immortal mobs, ect) and I wanted to know if anyone just using the combat profiles have gotten banned.

Thanks,
Atlas

I doubt there's any truth behind the glitches thing. Trinity is unlikely to target anything weird or invalid. Besides there are much easier patterns to detect.

I think if they want to spend the effort, it would be very easy to catch most botters because of the non-human behavior. You dont need HD scanning, warden or checking for memory tampering. For example, *puts on tinfoil hat* buying things at inhuman speeds from the shops, clicking the interface at inhuman speeds. Knowing precisely when the cooldown for everything is done and never trying to cast a spell while its on cooldown. Never clicking on the ground, if you notice when you click with the mouse on the ground it has a little pulse effect, that doesn't happen with DB. I could go on but you get the point.

I saw a Blue quote on DiabloFans that gives the impression that the last ban wave was focused around pruning cheaters from the ladder rankings. So it would behoove people to stay away from greater rifts and seasons. Not that the bot is especially good at doing grifts, but those with bot-obtained gear can probably rank high playing manually.

Keep in mind that (supposedly) lots of people were banned for using AutoIt/Macro scripts, and other less sophisticated cheats.

Personally i think its more about the spectacle, and i especially think that because they felt the need to write an official post about it. They want people to believe that the botters are getting handled, and therefore that they stand a chance on the leader-boards.

Which is ironic because they have also stated that they are perfectly happy with what is happening with 0dog. Depsite that the top500 in 2-4 player ranks are all DH and 0dog combos, basically invalidating the leaderboards entirely as nobody can get the required items anymore.

I do believe xzjv is near correct on similar things Blizz may look at, while humans can replicate a few things stated, but somethings they cannot.

Strangely, this won't apply to everyone, but one account that was banned had ranked on a solo run, and was removed due to "falling down the ladder", and the unbanned account hadn't been able to gain access to such levels, and thus, hasn't been banned.

I might be cautious in future, as the banned account had ran near 5k rifts / GRIFTS, while the unbanned account merely 10% of that.
