New X-pac and people being angry....

I've been reading on several forums about peoples attitude about the new x-pac. And it seems that people are super mad about pandas, also the pet battles. Whats wrong with it? If you don't like it, don't play it! Blizzard isn't forcing anyone to play this game, play a monk or battle pets.

I guess if I remember right, people weren't happy last year either with some new stuff that came out with blizzcon.

What do you guys think?

I myself, think its kind of cool. And am looking forward to the new stuff coming with it!

all the new expansion means is that im going to have to re-write my mage CC for the 7th time now.
 
I agree. People are already bitching and saying how this won't save Blizzard. Blizzard doesn't need to be saved. They are part of Activision. With the 11million active subscribers they claim to have they make $165 million a month. That's a lot of damn cheddar. Not even counting the other games they have. So many people will come back to the game just to try the new xpac. That means game sales and renewed subscriptions, whether they stay or not. I'll play the new xpac and if it sucks oh well. Pandas do seem kind of dumb in WOW but it still looks kind of cool.

im just calling it the "Kung-Fu Panda Expansion"

blizzard has so much money, if they where to make a pile they would have to use a boomer-rang to put a belt on it! - Yo momma so fat joke, only with blizzard money
 
Every xpac is going to bring a lot of hate from the players, no matter what they do. Yea the pet battle system is rather silly to me and screams pokemon (I'ma have a strand crawler and name it Krabby. When it levels it will "evolve" :D) spin of, or at least thats how its going to be taken.
Pandas are going to be immediately "Kung-Fu Panda" despite pandarens being in Warcraft and even the noncombat pet coming out before that movie I do believe.
Same with Worgen and Furries
Same with Squid Heads
Same with Death Knights being available to all races (minus pandas now though)

Strategy wise it was a good idea to show this stuff off before Star Wars and even do the 12 month contract for perks thing (free Diablo you say?) since they get more guaranteed $$$. Though I still think its retardedly early to show this despite Cata not even being finished yet or lasting nearly as long as other xpacs did.

On one hand I can imagine how much more stupidity is going to happen from now until about... 3-4 months after this new xpac comes out and its old news. On the other I think having such a lively looking area and such to explore will be a nice change from Cataclysm.

Remember its not even in Beta yet and likely to change

WC3 Pandaren '99 was before Kung-Fu Panda so you lose :P
 
i'm angry too...this expansion will bring a brand new wave of "i'm 12, and what's this?".
 
Putting such a cartoon looking class in the game it's just asking for 10 year olds to go oh look it's got fuzzy panda's it's gotta be for younger kids right? I get that they all look cartoony but Panda's.....really. I know they were in WC3 but still , doesen't mean it was a good idea.

The only thing i can think is silly "again IMO" is the, pet battle system "pokemon" any one?
It will prob be cool though, i mean the Moonkin Hatchling VS Lil' Ragnaros who cant love that.
 
I like the art package they are using for the xpac and a monk has been a long awaited class for WoW( most mmo's start with one).

Honestly if people don;t like it take your $15 (or 8k gold/month(gotta love gold for game time RAF transactions :P)) somewhere else and gtfo.

But think about that prices with the new xpac , they will be raised, so goldselling will gain more than now, new boe items, craft, farm.
so keep up in money gaining guys and sell sell and sell again.

I'm sorry, i didn't realize i was not allowed my opinion. I personally don't really know how i feel about it. But we are the community and if some people hate it LET THEM HATE IT. if you like it then like it. After all games are built on what the player wants. And without the people hating on features the game wouldn't be the game it is today.

did they even give a release date for the new expansion? i feel like we wont see it go live till sometime next February. because it still seems too soon for them to want to do a Christmas release when 4.8 isn't even out yet. it seems like 2 months isnt enough time to let people burn though the content, and let the patch sit on the server long enough to make sure on launch night shits not crashing all over the place.

i feel like January or even February would be the most likely when i would think they would push the expansion out.
 
i think will be out in march, guys this is a xpac to see how many subscribers they will have to wow, coz wow is quite dead, they will work on diablo, thats why, obv in my opinions.

I read somewhere 2nd quarter of 2012; it wasn't "official" info, more an educated guess.

Will CC devs be needing/wanting access to the beta etc that users here can supply, or likely have their own?
