just got a letter from paypal talking about changing policy.
Soon, PayPal and eBay will no longer be part of the same group of companies and will operate as unrelated, separate organizations. So we're updating PayPal's User Agreement, Acceptable Use Policy, and Privacy Policy to continue providing the same great services you're used to. Although we have updated the Privacy Policy, our focus on protecting your data is not changing. The updated Privacy Policy highlights how we will share data with eBay after the separation to continue to deliver the same level of service to our shared customers. We're also making other changes to our business practices and policies that aren't related to the separation.

These updates go into effect on July 1, 2015, so we encourage you to familiarize yourself with the updates. You can read them all at our Policy Updates page. Here are the highlights:
We updated the Privacy Policy, including regarding sharing your information between PayPal and eBay after the separation.
The User Agreement has been revised to reflect how PayPal services will work after the separation.
We've updated the User Agreement regarding when and how we may contact you.
We've expanded our PayPal Buyer Protections to include intangibles like digital items and services.
We changed our fee structure for certain sellers and nonprofits.
We also updated the terms of the PayPal User Agreement relating to how legal disputes with PayPal are resolved, including changes to the Agreement to Arbitrate.
If you don't agree to the amended User Agreement, Privacy Policy, or Acceptable Use Policy, you may close your account before July 1, 2015 and you won't be bound by the amended terms.

As always, if you need help or have any questions, give us a call or visit our Help Center. You can find the link on any page of our website.

Thank you for being a PayPal customer.

Sincerely,

PayPal

Surely this will come with a better Sellers protection policy.

Wonder how they'll go about handling it.
With this I imagine people will be constantly faking being scammed or such; I mean, how can you prove for either side 100%?

right now, they just give the buyer back his money with the seller fearing for bad feedback. without ebay to deal with, it might be a different paypal.

I still won't accept PayPal for my goods. If someone wants to be dishonest, they'll still find away. If they use a stolen account, they could most likely still change all of the information so they can be verified , so i just don't trust it.

yeh, im still 300usd in the red because of a shitty buyer 'my account was hacked'. they gave all his money back. now i cant use my paypal for anything. and since im linked with my social, bank account, debit card, phone number, i cant even open a new account. fukem. if i ever need to sell gold again, ill only use skrill.

Ah well I get that buyer's king... but back then when I sold through my own site...someone chargebacked after 1.5 year.....

Presented PayPal with download logs, e-mails, statcounter tracking of when he booted up the routine...... yet PayPal still believed him saying: I did not buy it.... someone hacked me... I never bought or wanted anything from him.

Sigh >.< shrugs..... in the end ur cheaper off just refunding cuz the 'investigation costs' are higher.

That policy update doesn't change anything. PayPal already used "buyer is the king" since like ever.

Its not like they can do anything about it. In digital purchases there is no way to verify buyer's id. Physical credit card isn't present in transaction, there are no security cameras, no signatures or anything else that could be used to verify buyer's id.

This!

With this policies, Paypal was, is and will always be unsecure way to accept money from randoms over the internet, no matter what! They give technically zero protection on the seller, unless its Ebay, Amazon or other corporation.

The only way Paypal could be used, is to work with trusted sources only!
