I've been thinking about buying a second computer for my future rift bots.
I'm planning to run 6 bots on this computer, or more if it's capable running more.
Here is the deal, the computer i'm looking for:

  • Motherboard: ASUS SABERTOOTH X58
  • Proccessor: INTEL Core i7-950 3.06GHz 1366 BOX
  • Memory: KINGMAX 4096MB DDR3 1333MHz x4
  • Winchester: WD 500GB Caviar Blue 7200rpm 16MB SATA3 WD5000AAKX x2
  • Power supply : GIGABYTE ODIN Plus 600W
  • Graphics card: GAINWARD 2043-BLISS GTX550Ti 1GB GDDR5 HDMI PCIE

What do you think, will it be able to handle my requests?
I will run Windows 7 on this computer with the shiny things turned off.

RAM will be the problem.

16GB ddr3 is a problem? i seriously doubt that

now, i would have gone with 1600 mhz, but 1333 is fine, too

i would personally go with more vram vs more gfx (if its just for a bot comp)

and a larger psu

Thx kickazz006!
Would you be so kind and recommend a graphics card from your choice? :)
Hm, 1600mhz rams are nearly the same price so let it be :)

Hm, my gtx 460 is just way too loud atm :)

Never did this 2 videocard thing.. But if you say I might give it a shot.
2 from this is not much money, and you say i would get better performance this way?

Thanks for the advice! It's nice there are ppl like you..In the shop they told me I shall buy the one I wrote, they must be stupid to botting hehe :D

i haven't looked at the specs of the nvidia you listed, but the last few nvidia cards i had... they had driver issues and i always had to get modded drivers because i kept getting errors - and it was a pita to overclock

If you want ATI, then go with the 6770 - it's best for the bang imo.

- Anyone else, feel free to reply :)

Now, I won't lie... on a heavy load you will hear a slight hum - but if you're playing music or watching tv... you won't hear it at all

Didn't catch the x4. 16GB should be fine. Do you use dual monitors?

With the price of the MB and CPU you have selected personally i would change to a
Newegg.com - Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80623I72600K
And about any MB from here
Newegg.com - Computer Hardware, Motherboards, Intel Motherboards, LGA 1155, 2, Intel Z68

I highly recommend that 2600k setup, have one myself and there is no stopping it.
As far as Gfx cards, i use 2x 6870's in crossfire myself. The gain averages to about 30-40% from what i have seen. On a purely botting machine i am not sure you would need dual cards to begin with, so i will not make any suggestions there..

2600k setup seems a bit harder to get in my country and it costs a bit more.Is it really more powerful for botting?

instead of the i5-2600k get the i5-2500k and spend the extra money on a p67 motherboard (any will do, but I personally got the ASRock P67 Extreme4 and love it) then overclock your processor. The k series gives you the unlocked multiplier (for overclocking) and the p67 series boards are made for just that. I've got my i5-2500k running at 4.5Ghz at the moment, and it was very easy to do.

Hardware will be fine, however it might lag a little with 6 games running in windows mode... Due to a single GCard running them all. I would suggest SLi..

Now, why the 2 500Gig HD's if its just a bot pc?

Check out the new Z68 mobo's over the P67. They are like P67 2.0, and the features that have been added to the Z68's are very nice (Ie. Intel SSD response, combined GPU/CPU capabilities). The Asus Z68's or Gigabyte's are my suggestion

Thx for this guys! I might do the i5 overclock with the z68's.

well , one for the win, 1 for the game. why 500gb? it's really cheap there. 160gb are like 2$ cheaper.. :) maybe i will try an ssd for the win

Here is my setup, and with the switch on the motherboard it clocks itself safely to 4.5 per core staying at 50c under load :)
cost me aprox 900 euro
