If you use Nox "as is" it might get detected since they were stupid enough to put their name over everything. (Device name, Model ex.....).

I rooted mine then modified the init.nox.sh file so that it reflected the same data as my phone. As an added security measure I used a cloaker app to prevent Pokemon go from detecting it's rooted.

Still not 100% fool proof but it has kept me low on the radar so far.

Quick question: Have you been able to change the kernel version name in Nox? Because I've changed just about every setting, but I can't seem to change the kernel name away from "nox@ubuntu #26". I'm really not comfortable with leaving it.

No. As far as I can tell it's hard coded. Only way I know is to flash a new rom.

Balls. Seems like a lot of work, but I guess it'll be worth it. I need to be able to log in to the accounts to clear level up rewards, achievements and stuff. Do you know if any Nox functions (GPS spoof, input data, etc) will be affected by flashing to a new ROM?
