Hi!
I have serious problems with my pc.
The screen just freezes after a while and sometimes i even get a blue screen saying that the pc is shutting down preventing damage to the system. The only thing to do is to hold in the shut down button and reboot that way.
The pc is from april 2010 so its pretty new but i use it every day.
This started some months ago with 2-3 times a week and lately its just happening all the time i try to use my pc.
I have scanned for malwares and if something is damaged in the system but its all clean and working.
When i play wow i use to listen to musik and have messenger opened, and today i cant even have anything of them open alone without sucess.
I dont wanna reinstall my pc because the network im at now is very slow and it will take way to long time to install wow again. I prefer doing that when i come home but thats about a month to that...
I also read in some forums regarding same issue that a reinstallation not worked for them.
Since you guys are very helpfull all the time i ask for help and maybe some of you got experience from this issue from the past :)
Im not a total retard at the pc so you know (studying c++ and lots of maths at high school atm).
Help me :(

Hi, HenkaN75, and sorry to hear about your troubles.

The symptoms you describe can be caused by a number of things, but a virus/rootkit or failing hardware are the two most likely causes.

If its hardware, a failed fan or other heat-related issue is sometimes the cause, but your machine appears to be too new for this to be a real consideration. Have you fiddled with the BIOS settings (e.g., did you try to overclock your machine)? If you did, you might try resetting them to factory defaults and see if that will clear the problem up.

Other than that...

Reinstalling the operating system is the normal way of eliminating rootkits/virus/bad drivers/etc as the source of the problem. I appreciate how long it takes to download WoW being a consideration. However, if you're not willing to try this step, then I think your only real alternative is to take it into a repair shop and have them look at it.

cheers & hope you get it worked out,

You also have the option of partitioning your HDD and copying your WoW folder to it.
That way, if you were to reinstall your OS, you wouldnt have to worry about reinstalling WoW.

Ty for youre opinions and different solutions.
I live in Sweden but im currently in Italy during the summer, so its much warmer here then at home.
I went through all configurations i could suspect and reinstalled all drivers etc (no sucess).
I made a deep search on the internet and found some guys that tried different softwares to solve the issue.
Prime95 is one of the softwares that runs test on the pc by overclocking moderboard and RAM memory, it didnt fail so my system was still working as it should do.
As i said on my first post, i use to listen to musik with a headset while running my pc, so i didnt hear that the fan crashed before the pc crashed.
Im using Speedfan to monitor my fan now and it seems to work good so far.

I just have to listen more, haha :)
