I’m having problems getting up and running in true AFK mode, and it seems most of the “getting started” guides I’m finding were written in 2010 or 2012 and are perhaps not up to date and relevant to my situation. For instance, there are numerous references to installing Trinity and Quest Tools, but they appear to be included in the newest version of Demonbuddy. I also see references to using the scheduler, but it doesn’t seem to be included in the newest version of DB unless it needs to be enabled in some manner.
Here are the steps I’ve taken so far:
1. Download and unzip the newest version of DB.
2. Set up account on BuddyAuth and activated my key (fixed max sessions error)
3. Downloaded BuddyWizard, which installed some updates, which cured the program failing to load.
4. Downloaded some profiles and loaded them. I’m getting mixed results where some profiles can make a game and perform some running, but will not continue running, while other profiles cannot make a game, but will run once through Fields of Misery if I manually create the game. Once it exits, it cannot make a new game, so AFK doesn’t work.
I understand that some profiles have issues if your character has not completed some quests in campaign mode, so I’m currently in the process of running the entire five acts in campaign mode since this character was power-leveled and hasn’t completed campaign mode.
Some questions I have are:
1. Do I need a relogger? I’m not quite certain exactly what they are or if they are needed.
2. Some profiles appear to have several .xml files. If I load one of them and start the game, will it run all of them? I’m not sure if there is something I’m supposed to do in order to get all of them to run.
3. Am I just experimenting with some bad profiles? Can you point me to some that are well-known to run AFK reliably?
4. I currently use an authenticator. Do I need to get rid of the authenticator for DB to work properly?
I only have one account, so I'm not multiboxing and any information relating to multiple instances is not needed. I feel like I'm pretty close but need some basic advice to get a reliable AFK bot going. I'm also not certain about how important it is to change a lot of the settings in Trinity to match those described for each profile. It seems to me that if I input the settings for one profile, they may conflict with another profile, and I'm not sure if any of these settings would cause my bot to fail to work properly, or if they would just cause the bot to be less efficient.
Any advice and assistance would be greatly appreciated.
