Hey guys I'm building a new computer and need some advice on a few parts I still need.

This is going to be a HUGE upgrade compared to my current stone age system that only let's me run 1 DB/1 D3  (AMD 3800x2 Socket 939 2.2GHZ, 2GB memory, 5400RPM IDE HD, GeForce 9600GT 512mb).

Today I bought:
- Intel i5 3570k 3.4 GHZ Processor ($189.99)
- ASRock Z77 Extreme4 Mobo ($84.99)
- Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 1600 kit ($52.99)
- Corsair TX650M Power Supply ($114.99)
- Sony 24x SATA CD-ROM Drive (17.99)
After taxes it came out to $495.60

-I still need a video card, SSD drive, and case.
-I have $355 left in my budget ($850 budget)

For the case, I'm going to go with the Antec 302 or Antec One Gaming Series case, still deciding.

So that leaves me with $300ish for a video card and SSD drive.

Any suggestions? I'm loyal to Nvidia/EVGA cards, still open to AMD cards if the price/performance is that much better than Nvidia. From what I can tell, Nvidia seems to be lagging with new releases, compared to AMD? :(

For the SSD I need a 120/128 GB, known for reliability and best bang for the buck.
Anyone have this SSD?
Newegg.com - Corsair Neutron Series CSSD-N120GB3-BK 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

At this time, I only plan on running 3-4 bots on this setup, BUT I want to be able to play CS:GO and do other things on the computer at the same time.

Btw, Thanks to Demonbuddy, this computer is going to be free! :D

It's torturing having these parts sitting on my desk, just missing a few!

heres what i would do, the SSD might have "Speed", but you haven't mentioned any other storage. maybe what you should think about is a hybrid drive, like a Seagate Momentus XT (i think they are up to XT2 now) and you get the best of both, specifically with botting where its loading the same data over and over, most of it will end up getting cached, and then you get both, Larger storage sizes, and Fast Data, or you can even go with a raid, and get Speed, Storage Space, and Reliability but at that point its going to be more expensive.

trust me when i tell you, 120gb isnt enough, i bought a 250gb SSD, a OCZ agility 2, and once i got windows installed and the 3 games i needed, Diablo 3, WoW, and SWTOR, i was pretty much maxed out. so if you wanna go with an SSD, go big or go home, yea things wont be as snappy, but you can always invest more money on an SSD later down the road, and get a 500gb one if you want, and by then prices will fall.

heres the SSD i bought.
Amazon.com: OCZ Technology 240GB Agility 3 Series SATA 6Gb/s 2.5-Inch Midrange Performance Solid State Drive (SSD) with Max 525MB/s Read and Max 85K IOPS- AGT3-25SAT3-240G: Electronics
i installed it into my laptop and replaced the dvd drive i wasn't using. Dual Hard drives on a laptop FTW

oh and this one is cheaper.
Newegg.com - OCZ Vertex 3 VTX3-25SAT3-120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

what i would do, Normal 72000RPM drive, maybe a WD Black Edition Drive.
and spend the rest on a video card.

heres a 750gb WB Black Drive for less then the SSD you wanted.
Newegg.com - Western Digital Scorpio Black WD7500BPKT 750GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive -Bare Drive
you could probably do better and get a 1tb if not more in a normal form factor drive.

as far as video cards, i dont know video cards. what i would also think about doing is upgrading your ram and maxing it out. hell, if you wanted to drop 16gb in it, and then use the other 8gb for a ram disk and copy diablo 3 to it, and run it from there, it would be much faster then any SSD since its all loaded in system memory.

All the evga GTX series are nice. I'd skip radeon. My laptop has a radeon card and all I have is problems; especially with D3. I have a superclocked gtx460 in my desktop right now and it runs 3 D's like a champ and barley goes over 50C

the one in my laptop is fine, although its built into the CPU and its awesome.
never had a problem with my desktop ones ether.
Radeon HD 5550
Radeon HD 6950 that i flashed the bios on so it reads as a 6970

now i have had problems with my Nvidia cards, although to be honest the last one i used was a a few generations ago.
i guess your mileage may vary.

the thing i do like about AMD is that when they do driver updates it always seems to help, where every time i installed the latest Nvidia driver it never seemed to change anything.

Well I decided to return the TX650M as it is not nearly modular as I thought.

I just ordered a Seasonic X650 PSU fully modular, EVGA GeForce 660Ti Superclocked, and Samsung 830 Series 128gb SSD.

As for getting a regular hard drive, I'm going to get one later, maybe on black Friday/ cyber Monday. 128gb should be sufficient for now.

Pushed $150ish over my initial budget, but I think it will be worth it.

I'm so stoked to retire my current system, has been pissing me off lately how I can't do jack shit on it when botting 1 account lol. I'm shocked it hasn't burnt out @ 90-100% CPU load 24/7. Can't wait to bot multiple accounts while playing other games, and multitask like a monster!

Thanks again DB team! $_^

The wait begins...

SSD can be raid 0 to double your space/speed. Personally I'm using SSD like the one you just bought. Buying another copy of it and making a raid 0 with it is in my Do-list for when I will get some extra money. Raid 0 will double speed while letting you use all the space on both drive so you would en up with a crazy 240G SSD. The only downside is if any of the SSDs dies, it's over. All data is lost as part of data are on both drives.

On the other hand, I agree with CodenameG, 120g with no other storages is a bit tight. Might consider keeping the oldie computer and make a Gigabyte local network to use it as a storage drive somehow. A kind of local server.

Good luck!

not enough ram, ram is cheap, get at least 16gb. There are memory leakage problems with when botting, i'm not sure what's the cause. 8gb will be cutting it close for 4 bots especially if you're gonna be doing other things on your comp

get a used video card, saves a lot of money.

there's no reason to waste money on 2 SSD's and putting them in raid. The speed of 1 ssd is way more than enough, and with new technology constantly coming out with double the speeds, all you have to do is sell your old SSD and upgrade.

fckwarden, lmao thats some intense shit you have going on there! Rock on!

why the hell do they have so many GPUs? bitcoin rig? lol

sometimes you can get a case + psu for the price of a psu on newegg.. so it's worth it.

Hopefully you looked for the combo deals.. i was able to build an i7-3770k 32gb +ssd system for under $1000

a barely used gtx 460 that i picked up for $50. can only run 8 bots though before i start gettin fps lag (in vmware), i think i may need more vram or something. Gonna sell this and look for a 7950 or 6950

nice, I'm ordering a new pc this weekend and trying to figure out which parts I want to get.. trying to spend around $1000. also planning on running vmware, so thats awesome to hear you can run 8. My current bot comp is a old amd dual core and anything more than 2-3 vm's and its laggy as shit. did you buy the used card online??
