Need a good botting PC!

Yea, i am interested in knowing a bit of this too. The machine would just be used for botting, i would guess as little, compact and power saving plus being able to run multiple clients without much problem would be the best to go, but nothing too overpowered and/or overpriced . . .

omg you are kidding right, any wall-mart pc for $300.00 - $400.00 bucks can run 3 wow sessions or even 4 without issues in Windows 7 ultimate Not 8.1 which is scrap. The system come with 4 gig memory and 300-500 gig drive, you don't need some fancy video card, the Internal video is perfect since you will have each window set to low and 1/4 screen size. Also use something like a proxy switcher.

For a $1000.00 you can build a very nice 4 proc 4.2 mhz AMD with 16 gig ram, 500 gig drive with a 128 gig ssd and 2 gig plugin video card. Learn to shop around. come on guys. Online like at egghead or even ebay has all you need.

I can run 12 wow sessions on my small 4.2 Mhz AMD with 32 gig ram on the AsRock MB, 2 500 gig HDD with a 128 Gig SSD and use the 4 gig internal Video, I can use good for video setting in each session and still have other things running besides wow.

That would be up to how much you wish to spend, the ZN760 is only a duel proc, imho this is a beginner pc with no frills. even old XP systems had duel proc 2.x ghz. Come up to par with at least a 4 proc cpu. That turbo boost junk is exactly it, junk, you cannot boost any 1.6 ghz to a 2.6 ghz and have any kind of stability, (you will fry it) I don't care what they say, not going to happen.

and this is from the zotac site. I myself would never invest in this stuff. Even walmart has better with less money required. Remember any system you get just to bot should have a 4 proc, 2.6-3.0 to 4.0 ghz processor. You can run 4 bots easy on a 4 proc, 2.6 ghz, 4 gig memory 128 gig ssd with internal video. Since wow now take twice the memory to run one session, you do need 4 gig memory.

I use Proxy Switcher Standard which you should be able to get free from The Pirate Bay - The galaxy's most resilient bittorrent site it works very nicely. Version i am using is 5.8.1 Proxy Switcher Standard is 32-bit x86 software and will only run on
Windows 2000, XP, 2003, Vista, 7, 8 or newer versions.

Their are other proxy software out there but i like this one, i tried a few and this one seems to work best. Once you get it and install it, don't upgrade it (turn off autop-update feature). Follow the read-me file. Have fun.

"Crap" maybe is an inapropriate word here neverthe less i had an awfull experiance with it.

RAM usage again link idk where did you get it from (MS advertizing page i guess?). I have reverted back to windows 7 and i had 23% ram usage running 10 clients on both system (give or take a percentage).

People often take every benchmark resoult for granted expecially official ones that comes from manufaturer directly and in most cases they do not run tests by them selfs.

Try like i did ... install win 7 boot up all your apps take down the numbers ... and then do the same wint 8.1 version ... you will be suprised how much they will differentiate

And btw, some of us that worked At MS in Redmond Wa for over 10 years and are Sr, IT engineers and also being an MCP, MCSE and Cisco Eng that worked with all editions every day working in the server rooms which house over 4000 servers with network equipment. We (the system engineers) had to troubleshoot this shit every day. Don't even try telling anyone about the usage of resources required for win 8.1 vs win 7 for your small system with little bandwidth and almost 0 overhead. Also note this is not near field communication that is needed for gaming. And Hyper-V support was not input into win 7 initially and is a quest supported OS which is Professional - Enterprise and Ultimate. Hyper-v was put out in SERVER 2008 first which is NOT a gaming supported OS but will do it and hyper-v superseded Virtual PC. MS VPC is also not up to par, Virtual-BOX VM is up to par. New features are always implemented into newer version of code (Operating system) rather than ones already out unless a patch is pushed to the server rooms that have newer versions no less than 6 months prior to be released as beta's to the beta testers, than no less than 6 months testing. Beta testing of Hyper-v was not pushed in time for windows 7 pro - ent- or ulimate to be implemented into. Yeah one last thing, my system running windows 7 ultimate boots to the OS in 16 seconds due to all the extra stuff i have hooked up and running, Windows 8.1 on my same system also boots in 16 seconds. Oh wow. Boot time advertised it for bare systems with nothing extra on them that the os has to find and or configure prior to you seeing the desktop.

which isn't an argument, i am still missing some technical facts, benchmarks, whatever that proves windows 8.1 is shit. I am a software engineer myself (and i could also list some stuff nobody gives a fuck about) and i am working productive + private on Windows 8.1, without the slightest issues.

Win 8 and 8.1 both have significant performance increases in most applications. I don't know where you get your specific data from. Maybe some specialized-to-old-software type of nonsense? Correct, server OS's are totally different than desktop OS's. For one, most servers don't need graphics performance, since they're almost always entirely used for computations, not visualizations.

Applications not written specifically for some certain Windows version tend to use less memory, and less CPU on Win8 than on Win7, by a fairly large margin (because they use updated Windows drivers, and the newer runtimes which are far more optimized). For example; our own bots use even less CPU and Memory, and we do nothing different. Granted; that's just some .NET magic behind the scenes, but the fact still remains.

OS boot time is kind of a silly metric. Win8's boot time is faster than Win7's, but not by enough for it to really mean much. (It dominate's Win7 when on slower platter drives though, which is great, but most people have SSD's these days anyway)

MS's Hyper-V is really only useful for enterprise environments, or corporate offices. I've never found it to be particularly useful outside of those specific scenarios.
