Hello there.
If you found the title for this thread interesting enough to click it, then you probably already know who I am and/or used some of the profiles I've released for free on these boards.
You might also know that I have a website that gives you the opportunity for auto-updating all the profiles and plugins that I (and other developers) make.
I spent many hours and much money on this website to keep it ad-free and easy-to-use.
Recently, the HB team has made a new rule that I am not allowed to link to the site that allows you to have this auto-update feature. How it is different from linking to an SVN page is questionable, but that still seems to be allowed.
Back when the awards system was in place on these boards, I had the award for most downloads (as in my profiles/plugins/attachments were downloaded the most), so it's definitely not like I'm not sharing to the community.
I invested this time and money on the website, because the rules as they were allowed me to share it with the community here so I thought it was a great opportunity. But when it began to catch on - they changed the rules and now I can't do that anymore, which I feel like is a spit in my face.
I will continue to develop stuff for Honorbuddy, but it will only be found on my website, and not on these forums anymore (as I am not allowed to share most of my work here).
I sincerely hope that you will all enjoy the profiles/plugins/botbases made by the buddy team and semi-developers who doesn't really know what they're doing, and there's of course also the ones that do know how to make proper things and still will release them here, but I think that number is getting thinner and thinner with each new rule on these forums that degrades the freelance developers rights.
