My theory on the recent bannings.

If you take a look at all the recent bannings just posted in the last few hours they all have one thing in common. They were all using HB. I know HB isn't detected but my theory is its easier to be player reported while leveling because you are moving slow on the ground in more congested areas unless you are using a private or personal profile.

With GB on the other hand you are on the ground 2 secs to pick an herb or mine an ore and then you are in the sky again in huge zones. So the odds of getting player reported using GB is much lower. Thats just my take on it as I have had 0 bans with GB and a few 72 hours with HB in the past to further support the recent numbers of all HB bans and no GB.

thoes are a bunch of 72 hours. all for different reasons, some had exploitative economy, some where software automation, they will get thier account back, but making such a board generalization that its the program is a bad one to make. as long as they dont call asking about their accounts most will get them back.

I have just noticed every time one of these little ban hiccups hits the community most of them happen to be using HB and not GB. I was just giving my reason as to why I think most of them are from HB compared to GB. Im not saying it is correct and thats why I posted. I wanted to see other people's views on what I think.

thats like saying, "Well i notice everyone dies. so it must be that they are born" not only does it not help things, but it adds even more confusion at a time where users need to be aware of whats really going on. in the example i used, we need to figure out why, people are dieing, not the fact they lived. plus, its not a ban wave, it used to be in the old days, a bunch of people got 72 hours, the glider admins would call you stupid and mute you, "72 hour suspensions are not banwaves." when people start getting perminate account closers and i mean a lot of them more then 100, then its a banwave.

Fine "suspension hiccups" is that better? If you look through the 1st 2 pages in the ban forums and look at what they have in common it is HB. There are a few GB perma bans in there but they were posting 100+ auctions a day and they got abuse of the economy. No where in my posts have I claimed this to be a banwave either if so all my accounts wouldn't currently be running. I guess I should have titled this thread "My theory on the recent suspensions".

If this was the case the amount of my accounts wouldn't grow every month...HB/GB are not detected or you would see massive perma ban postings.

Why do you find it necessary to post in every single recent ban/suspension thread?

This might as well be the last post in the thread. Honorbuddy is NOT detected. If it was, the dev's would shut down the bot before any large amount of damage could be done, since they know how to reverse engineer warden and have protection against its updates (even though its a little sensitive =/).

You generally see people get banned for using HB more, because HB has more users. They are also more exposed to player reports since they could be botting in places that have alot of traffic. With GB, there are alot less people that could posssibly see you, and its even less likely that they will a)notice that your a bot, or b) take the time to report you.

As a response to all the 72 hour bans being at once, thats how blizzard bans people. They stockpile, and ban at once.

I've used Hb with public profiles a lot.

I've never left it unattended and that's probably why i haven't been suspended once.

All the 24/7 botters are bound to get reported sooner or later.

All the conspiracy-theories are funny to read but they dosen't apply.

If HB or Gb is detected it would be closed down instantly by the admins.

This happens every few weeks, yet people act like the sky is falling every single time. I'll admit I did too the first time I saw it. Blizz stacks up player reports (or SOMETHING, no one knows how or why these happen) and every 2-3 weeks will just give everyone 3day suspensions. If you ask me, it's a scare tactic to scare some people straight.

I've seen this happen close to half a dozen times in my 6 months of botting. It's nothing to be worried about.

mostly cuz of player reports... but a good indicator of a botter is if your history before using a bot you only play like 2-4 hours at a time, collect herb/ore/leather in little amounts and then all of a sudden your toons are on for 16+ hours a day with no breaks inbetween sessions, half your bank tabs are full of ore/leather/herbs.... etc. Shit like that I feel in my experience will get your toons flagged quick when I guess they go over your account history after so many reports.

Only suspension I ever got was when I decided to clean out my guild bank after stocking it with random crap over the years all in one AH setting a long time ago before I even knew about botting in wow(supposedly for exploiting the economy). Ever since then nothing.... if you bot smart you won't get a ban or suspension. Stay away from congested areas.... slowly work time logged in per session on your account history over a couple of weeks. And I don't care what other people say about public profiles being safe... too many times when I first started botting and used public profiles did I notice some minor changes added to the game like a tree stump/limb added in a path that wasn't there the week before, Random mob set to always evade, etc... Nodes being put in odd ball places to make your toon die to falling damage is a big one I started seeing since going back to farming icecrown with GB.

Interestingly when logging into WOW just now there is a dirty big notice about password security, maybe can claim being hacked if the accounts don't come back, seems to have been a big enough problem for Blizz to report it on the main login screen.

Not true, or I'm just a hell of a lucky person .. Since i received twice a 72Hour suspension on 1 account + a 42 Hour for the market..... After the suspensions i just continue'd but with a 3hour break so farming 21 hour , except when i Raid...

To be fair I have heard from a number of people on this forum who arent noobs at all who say they have run their bots for 24/7 for months at a time with no issues.
