Actually, there is a way to stop malicious code getting from into your router, businesses do it all the time. Maybe not in the white trash town you live in.

By the way, "ghettofleck" - my name is what's called a "handle", one that I've used for the last 15+ years, from when I used to dial up BBSes with my 2400 baud modem. These "handles" don't necessarily have to be gramatically correct, or spelled appropriately. In fact, spelling it differently is, well, being "original".

A simple brute force attack would guess "ole123" by the 69984th guess - which would take probably less than 10 minutes (accounting for network traffic, etc) - it could be guessed locally within seconds.
