My mail just disappeared. Had like 300 mails of materials. I used a mailing add-on to help me manage them.

Has this ever happened to anyone?

Should I open a ticket?

The worth of my mails were at least 100,000 gold in materials + CoD payments.

But I have not logged off the account in 24+ hours. I don't know how far Blizzard will investigate the issue.

They won't investigate my account too deeply if I open a ticket?

Wait about... holy hell that's a lot of gold in one day... back to the point, like a day, see if it comes in tomorrow, if not then open it up. If you think it's too risky, then just leave it and go make more.

Its happened to me before. I didn't think too much of it until it happened a second time, now.

You need to get on and empty your box more often.. I use Postal, the addon, and with over 50 mails in the inbox, it shows how many more are waiting to be delivered. Assuming there is an overflow bug in Blizz's Mailbox system.

Back in the BC days, I had this happen before with a lot of very expensive materials. I was transferring materials from one vanity bank to another. Its like Bliz diverted the materials for almost two weeks, then decided to send them on. It was before I knew anything about botting, and this could raise flags. I would never mail like that now, knowing what I know now about server-side detection. :D

As to whether you should open a ticket, there are obviously pluses and minuses to the action. I don't think you'll be flagged for asking where your stuff went, as any legitimate player would be highly upset with such a loss. However, I would hesitate to bot on an account that asked about it, due to the GM contacting any toon on that account with regard to the matter. If you were botting at the time you were contacted, that indeed would be bad news. There is also the problem of the GM asking why you were moving so much expensive material, and possibly from whence it came.

Just more info for your consideration,
chinajade

How do you avoid the problem?

No way to avoid it. Just kinda have to let it happen. The mailbox has bugged before, like 200+ people on my real went without their mail for like 2 weeks, and some went to the wrong people, stuffs like that. Later it was all sent correctly.
