Yes both AH's are full of delusional sellers this is true. But Rmah has buyers who have either more money than time or more money than brains. I posted a vile ward with worse stats than OP's for $100 and it sold in less than an hour. I know I could have gotten more.

My recommendation on top tier items would be to gouge buyers as much as possible, you can always relist the item at lower price if it doesn't sell.
 
low starting bid, high buy out. get a few guys on the hook, let them battle it out with thier mothers credit cards
 
Must be vile ward week lol. I landed a 273 str, 174 vit, 72 ar, 283 regen, 665 total armor. Haven't decided on wether or not to rmah or get as much gold as humanly possible for it. Funny thing is I was actually playing when it dropped :)

The RMAH is full of people with stolen or generated credit cards, the few percent of people who actually buy stuff with their own money I feel sorry for, it's just a game, the others well they have more serious problems to deal with if they get caught :)

I feel sorry for you because you undervalue time. Time is a resource, same as money.

If someone makes $40/hour, it probably makes more sense to work than farm in d3 because unless you average $40/hour in RMAH, work will be the wiser choice. Time is more valuable than money for this individual.

If someone makes $8/hour, it probably makes more sense to farm in d3 and work because money is more valuable than time for this individual.

Unfortunately this concept is lost to the latter group.
 
The time is money is true.
For people with money saving time is very valuable.
To broke mofo's they will spend endless time to save a buck.

Im more the ladder :P
