Hey All I wanted to talk about some more recent bans that happend in the US among my team. My team mate got nocked out today on 5/6 ip ban only one not banned was 1/2 sleepers that had never logged on from the same IP/mac and machine but was in the guild.
1st off they are all paid accounts some digital some retail.
2nd Every account was using diferent custom xml scripts from gb2 / grind for farming.
3. All accounts were ran using unique virtual windows on power house pc's running 5 or more accounts at once.
So I started digging because well this is costing me and my team money and I ran into something off another site many highly respected mods and users use that talked about where blizard is water marking and sending screen shots back to there servers that actually contains a whole bunch of our information. Because I don't want to break HB's tos i am not going to link the thread nor mention the site by name but sugest googling "Looking inside your screenshots " and you will find a welth of knowlage on the subject. Turns out acording to the researchers every ingame screen shot has this info in it that includes your IP, your game client version , server , toon name , guild and many other stats including your battle.net info. There are many red flags with this because this is not in there TOS for one and what gives us the user the power to fight back. It is worth noteing now that this "code" has been dissected and if you ever posted a screen shot on the web all your info is there to be data mined by the scamers! The Authors clame it exsists from patch 2.0 up to curent.
It seems there might be a work around by using /console SET screenshotQuality "10"
It is keep secret what bliz actually does but if you search you will find lots of info on this subject and if they do anything like fairplay well this would explane alot like.
1. why everyone doesn't get banned at the same time (hb detection)
2. why whole farms get nocked out when running vwm's and prx's
3. How they could casually send back client info including running programs
In closing I love HB and the former clients that were used I hope the comunity stays strong but insted of pointing fingers and blaming bosslands kick or anyone else I think we as a community should try and help figure out why so many long time users and people who do this for a living are getting nocked out as easlly as the guy who is just running lazy raider.
Also after reading the info i think it is a must to rename your HB client and also retag its description something that is a little more complex to do in order to combat the chance of water marking info being sent to there servers.
Please let me know your thoughts and any info you have on the subject. Be safe my HB'rs
