Hey guys and gals! I just thought I'd post a thread about my stockpile list and strategies. Feel free to comment or post up your lists or strategies as well.

Numbers are in amounts not amounts of stacks and are approximate.

Cata Mats

Elementium Bar: 8500
Obsidium Bar: 8500
Cata Herbs: 8500 of each
Cata Uncut Common Gems: 2000 of each
Hypnotic Dust: 3000

Wrath Mats

Saronite Bar: 8500
Cobalt Bar: 8500
Wrath Herbs: 20000 total of various kinds
Wrath Uncut Common Gems: 2000 of each
Abyss Crystals: 500

TBC Mats

Adamantite Bar: 8500
Fel Iron Bar: 8500
TBC Herbs: 20000 total of various kinds
TBC Uncut Common Gems: 2000 of each
Arcane Dust: 2000

I opted not to stockpile vanilla mats, because I just dont think they will be worth the inventory slots. My basic strategy is to start selling the TBC and Wrath Mats once I see a rise in the markets. Prolly a week to a month after release (when people rolling Monks start needs mats for professions). The Cata mats I am actually going to hold on to for atleast 3 to 4 months (maybe even longer), until players supply/stockpiles have been depleted.

Short-term gold making after launch: TBC and Wrath Mats
Long-term gold making after launch: Cata Mats

I also have a couple TCG mounts. Got them for a decent price. Gonna see how the prices change for them in MoP. Kind of taking a gamble on these, they could increase in price or decrease from mounts being account wide. But i needed to get rid of some liquid gold to hedge against inflation. So this was the biggest ticket items.

This is imaginary, I counted the mats u stated and it is over 115.000 in total. Each stock is 20 so u need over 5550 slots to stack them all, is it even possible?

With a few bank accounts i dont see the problem.
+ he didnt say that its just on one server

Got about that number of items myself. You just need to remember that mail is effectively more bank slots. Just post them between chars.

Im bored, ill do the math.

EDIT: Cbf

My guess is:
- You'll lose the mounts since they were most likely duped.
- Most of the gems are worth bubcas.
- Abyss crystals are and will remain worthless

So you should probably at least get rid of the Abyss crystals and severely reduce your stock in gems.
All the rest will take a *lot* of work to sell decently but if you're willing to put in the work it might be worth a few pennies. Most probably nothing special though (think up to 100G per stack if you keep supply low; ore generally more than herbs).

What about the Vial of the Sands mount? I saw a guy selling mats that I'm sure he duped somehow. Once these are made into the vial, will they be gone? I bought enough to make 9 and am waiting till the price goes back up (after MOP). Right now they are selling for about 17-20k. I'm sure the guy sold lots so I am waiting for them to all be used.

Well, I have like 5 guild banks, 2 accounts with 10 chars on each account as bank alts with herb and mining bags. I have plenty of room. (plus i am using the mail limbo method for some items - as someone mentioned) And this is all on one server. I just gold farm and do AH play for fun. I enjoy it. I just like to bank-roll friends, have the freedom to buy what i want, and to give stuff away. I don't sell gold . I don't abuse markets, I sell mild quantities over longer periods of time.

Gems: They will actually sell very well. Alot more than they are selling for now. Everyone will be leveling professions, if not re-rolling professions, they will need them on their pandaren/monk chars. The price of raw uncut common gems (from every xpac) will def be more than they are now.

Abyss Crystals: (Abyssal Shatter) These are actually a great way to save bag space for stocking up on Infinite Dust and Greater Cosmic Essence. Infinite Dust is always the chokepoint for leveling enchanting, and I expect them to sell very well for the first couple months after release.

TCG Mounts: I just bought these for a gamble. I needed to get rid of some liquid gold. So they worked for that purpose. If I lose them, I lose them.

I'm stockpiling because prices for mats right now are at a low. They will not remain this low once MoP releases. So I will make a profit off holding the inventory and stockpiling compared to selling them at the low prices now. I am still selling some stuff, that sells decently, like wrath and tbc mats. but i just stockpiled the rest.
