MoP Heroics

Is there even such a thing as a recommended 5-man setup? No one seems to recommend the same 5-man team if you ask me..

My experience from 5-man botting is that I prefer melee classes as they tend to not get stuck and they don't end up being too far away from the encounter to get stuck in nonsense going on like the ice on the first boss in Scholomance, ranged classes have the tendency of stay too far from the tank so they get struck by mechanics like these. One could always set the follow distance down from the default which is 20 but then you will often see issues like they start moving mid-casting.

Others seems to recommend a team of classes that do not depend on the same gear / drops. But from my experience this does not really matter at all, if you are going to have a full team of bots going it will only be a matters of hours until you have farmed pretty much all the various drops you are able to grab from the various dungeons anyway. The only benefit of having a team that do not relay on the same kind of drops would be in the start when you might be somewhat under-geared and that's pretty much it.

And you always have the question of the optimal class combination in terms of buffs. I'm no geek so I don't really know what classes features the various buffs and what buffs works best with what classes so I have no clue what would be considered the optimal combination of classes here. All I know is that having a class with Bloodlust / Time Warps might be a good thing.

Currently I'm levelling myself a new team and it consist of;

- Protection Warrior (Tank)
- Holy Paladin (Healer)
- BeastMaster Hunter (DPS)
- BeastMaster Hunter (DPS)
- BeastMaster Hunter (DPS)

This might look like a awkward combination, going all out on the very same DPS class. But others have claimed that BeastMaster is the holy grail and works wonders so I wanted to give it a try. I guess the benefit of going BeastMaster is that they act as both ranged and melee due to their pets. And I suppose that if they get stuck the pet will still cause some damage to whatever target your group is currently facing. And if the tank goes down you have an entire army of pets being able to tank and hopefully survive the fight before everyone dies.

I choose Protection Warrior as tank due to Gladiator Stance. You will hopefully out-gear whatever you are going to farm so having additional DPS on the tank like what Protection Warrior is capable of with Gladiator Stance might give you a boost. Otherwise I would normally go with a tank that also features healing like Paladin or Druid (Bear).

For healer I choose Paladin as they are hard to kill.

3 bm hunters are mandatory as all their attacks are instant, their pets teleport to the mobs, and there is no casting whatsoever. I queue a balance druid up as a healer and set it to off heal when party is below 60%, that starfall aoe thing is king in most instances.
Blood dk so you don't need a healer at all. Buffs seem totally irrelevant, though i get 3 different buffs from pets, bloodlust is completely useless since it'll only matter on a boss, and bosses die in 20 sec anyways, the only ones that take time do so because of mechanics.

So in essence, ranged is king, with hunters being your best class. If i could, I'd run 5 hunters.

dont need a healer just have ret or shadow priest who can off heal and have them que as healer, you will melt them faster and increase gph

Went with 2 BM hunters and 1 something else so I can easily script them to get different pets for the buffs :)

If female and bm
get cat
If male and bm
get wolf
If not bm
keep serpent or w/e.

Checking the dps meters they are very close to each other after days of online time.

Yeah but then you need to gear them to 510-550, and that shit just takes too long. And getting honor is too high risk.

I believe the better build is RAF > MOP > DG , 13-15k per day each toons

My team has been going strong since the bot was down due to the ninja patch. I probably should have rolled three hunters and a druid as heals as well but whatever. I am not real satisfied with my gph but what can ya do right.

That's what I thought. But do you mean it's better to run RAF levelling in terms of money, or did he mean the fastest way to earn money is to RAF a full team and farm MoP dungeons? I don't quite understand what that post is trying to say. Using RAF and linking all the characters within a botting team sounds like a horrible idea to me, and the levelling itself shouldn't take long without RAF if you are going for a full 5-man team anyway.

He probably meant to say that the easiest way is to raf up a group to lvl 90(takes like an evening or something while rafing), gear em up with easy to obtain gear(get wod trial and the questing gear), and let em solo farm dungeons (gundrak etc) and do suicide botting. You can last from 4 hours to several weeks doing this, once they're banned you just do it over again. A 5-man team is typically intended to last longer, be safer, and easier to afk with, but requires some effort to gear em to hit the same gph as the solo dungeon farming.

From what i remember from my Botanica and gundrak craze you easily hit around 800 gph on your characters in solo farming, and that was with a lvl 85. The best I've had with a 5 -man group is about 950 on average with a 550+ ilvl group, which was easy to gear up to before wod hit, but is a real pain nowadays.

Indeed real pain to get 550. Was easy to gear before, made a script that just flipped the justice points for honor and bought honor gear. Super easy totally 100% afk get 522 ilvl. Usually got 16k gold per day per account. And they lasted 3-4 months :)
