Dear all,

I have recently been trying to speed farm legendaries and caches on normal and torment difficulties (up to torment 2). The best way to farm as you would all know is to speed run and kill things in mere split seconds so after trying a few builds, here is something epic I found for monk in RoS. I would humbly advice you to watch the video as it explains everything you need to know and also shows you how fast you can clear the map with this build, but if you prefer to read the info instead, here is how everything works:

Video: Diablo 3 RoS Fast Farming Monk Build for Torment (1000 sided strike) - YouTube

1000 sided strike build:
This build relies on dealing damage from epiphany - inner fire rune which procs amazingly often when combined with tempest rushing. So the inner workings of this build relies on reducing the cool down of epiphany as much as possible. The other aspect of the build relies of your ability to tempest rush indefinitely without losing any spirit, so using a 2 hander is advised, especially when you are getting used to the build. Fire storm is the rune for sweeping wind that lets you kill fast when your epiphany is on cool down so this is another important skill of the build, especially when this allows build to be a fire damage build.

Build: Monk - Game Guide - Diablo III

Your passives and paragon points are spent in a way to reduce your cool downs and increase damage whilst moving. beacon of Ytar combined with 10% cool down reduction from paragon and a diamond in your helm gives you a great start with the build, even if you have incompatible starting gear

Gear set:
Any 2 hander will let you use this build, for more dps try to roll a socket. As far as numbers are concerned, 400k dps with 4 mil toughness, 700 all res, 1.45 attacks per seconds, 43% crit chance, 36% cool down reduction,Spirit Regen around 10, one can clear torment 2 with ease especially when you consider the fact that monk is always moving and therefore dodges all the plague, molten, frozen and other affixes from monsters.

Here is my armoury: HolyHermit#2407 - Community - Diablo III

Minimum items needed for the build are: a 2 handed weapon with a socket, fire damage bonus on bracers, low attack speed (less than 1.7,lower the better) , maximum movement speed, cool down reduction coming from shoulders (every little bit helps)

The way of intercepting fist:
To play with the ultimate version of this build, look for flow of eternity and you can replace your FoT with SSS sustained attack and have a cool down to the skill reduced to a MERE 6 SECONDS !!!. When your epiphany runs out, you can keep spamming this skill (remember it has ~1 to 2 seconds of cast time during which you are invincible) and deal 5477% weapon damage every 6 seconds, so clearing high torments becomes easy.

For Torment 6:
I have a dream of playing torment 6 with this build and here are the items I think I need to get there:

Warezchain armguards with bonus fire damage
Hexing pants of Mr Yan
Helm+Chest+Belt from Inna's set
2 set bonus from Monkey king set
Royal ring of Grandeur
Flow of Eternity with a socket
Cindercoat
Gloves of worship (for empowered shrine)

With off sheet damage you get from these items and the fact that you can spam SSS every 6 seconds, even the highest torment is possible with this build, or at least it's something I like to be true.

I hope I was able to explain the build in detail; I am sure I have missed an item or two that can help with this build so please leave your feedback and I would be sure to get back to you.

All Credit goes to HolyHermit

Personal preference When using Demon buddy i swap out Mantra of conviction and use serenity with the extra second rune.

Thanks
kissofdeath

Sadly this build is gear-dependent.
Need at-least 10 spirit regen p/sec

I run it with 6 Spirit Regen with very little problems (ideal world yes 10). Was so easy to get 6 spirit, How i started this build was just getting a yellow two handed weapon with spirit regen can be obtained from the shard vendor.

Theres No sadly about it, This build is amazing and anyone can get this build to work with very little effort

If you do find spirit regen still a problem replace passive fleet footed with Guardians path for 35% increased spirit regen. ( I also had to do this my self)

or you could try and craft the reapers wrap... every health globe adds to your spirit...

Love that youve ripped this post from HolyHermit, i tried myself and didnt like it sadly

My fire build monk;
Monk - Game Guide - Diablo III

2* 1h weps both with sockets
+fire dmg where possible

754k dps (unbuffed, 860k once buffed up)
7.2m toughness

paragon: 191 atm
core: max spirit (self explanatory, once max then stack dex/vit) (remeber movement speed cap is 25%)
offense: split between AS + CHC (messed around with these 2 stats alot as im still low paragon, this seems to give me the best dps intead of stacking 1 stat)
defense: resist all (self explanatory)
utility: area damage (20% chance to split all dmg to mobs within 10yards, aoe must stat)

rolls over t1, t2 easy few elites may kill me with arcane/waller/frozen combos etc, t3 same again as t2

thx bro, this build helped me alot. I was struggling with expert on my monk but thx to this build i can manage to clear tourment 1 without any problems.

Is there any way to stop the bot from saving Epiphany? it only seems to use it on Elites / certain mobs :o

also is there a way to make it spam Mystic Ally (air ally)?

Every 20 seconds or so it can generate 100 spirit but it doesn't the active :/

Edit: nvm just edited the monk abilities in trinity to make it work.

Just updater/play with exploding palm/flesh is weak if you have spirit issues with lashing tail kick

So, does anyone have a good single-target build for monks?

Monk - Game Guide - Diablo III

Running this on Torment 1 Hardcore Ghom, but only getting around 45 games per hour.
I am, however, immortal to his poison, so that's good considering I play HC.

I haven't found any other build besides this. Any ideas?

Well unity passive will give u 10% dmg with follower, way of 100 fists for generator with blazing will give u inc attack speed as well = more spirit = more attacks

That's all I could prob advise/maybe suggest ATM but as hc only do it if you can stay alive ofc ;)

I too would also like to know how you edit Trinity to make the monk use Epiphany more. I can't seem to find it in the combat settings anywhere. Thank you
