A lot of people are constantly concerned about this market, you had the people who cried when gold was entering the single digits (>$9.99/mil) - but all this was pure laziness of people. Do you think they spent a dime upgrading/buying more resources to support the cash flow they wanted? Nope.

Most people around the time when gold was $5-$20+/mil had maybe one okay geared bot if they were lucky. Gold sites were paying great to anyone who came to them. Yes, things have changed and continue to change. You must keep up if you wish to continue making a fairly easy profit from this game. Most minimum wage jobs are more difficult than this.

Here is a chart of what people are currently making and have been for the past month+ at minimum.

Gold bots 500k/hour = 12 mil/day = $3.60/day (based on 30 cents per mil)

If you expand to 10 bots that is $36/day or $1,080/month.
If you expand to 25 bots that is $90/day or $2,700/month.
If you expand to 50 bots that is $180/day or $5,400/month.
If you expand to 100 bots that is $360/day or $10,800/month.

For every 10 bots you will need around $800 invested into hardware give or take depending on your budgeting/computer skills.

Other investments of course are the costs of the game which you should be able to find for $35-$50 a copy. If you are paying more than $50 per copy of D3 "you're doing it wrong". If you are building a network of bots you already know proxies costs pretty much nothing when you have your own VPS or server. (personally I get a /24 block for $50/month)

Now, the figures above are just for gold finding bots only.. You can easily earn 2-4x+ the above when you are also farming items in Inferno.

So get out there, make smart investments and work that grind.

great post, i agree. Could someone explain what he means by "proxies and servers? does this mean bots would have different ip addresses?

how do you assign ip to a d3 client ? You mean virtual machines then assign ips to those machines ?
And yes i am new to ips, proxies and everything under the hood :D

You forgot to include the turn out of bots being banned in your *full dream* report ...

Depending on the person and sometimes luck, bots can get banned after a day, or after months. Personally the fastest I've been banned is a week and the longest period I've gone without ban is 2 months.

If you do things correctly, you will always at least make your money back and then can continue the pattern until something happens with the market where you cannot generate any profit for your efforts.

You should always have some floater funds to help support these types of situations. When I get banned I will start running one bot, then 2, then 4, etc and continue that rate until I reach my max and start expanding until I'm hit again. Yes I start back to point A but now I've got money, more computers for more bots, etc.

You'll need to rent your own server or VPS from a datacenter and then install a script for handling socks5 protocol (what I use) for this program called Proxifier. You can assign executables to run on a certain IP/***** every time D3 is launched.

Problem is that im wasting 1-2 hours each day to take care of auctioning on my 8 bots, so 100 would be just unserviceable due to luck of time, unless were talking about pure gold farming bots, but gold will be worthless by the end of the year.

Well he is doing his calculation with 0,30 cents and the bottom is 0,25 cents. At the moment gold is stable on 0,40 on EU. (So yes we are making even more profit than OP states right now)

Also how can you take 1-2 hours to auction up on 8 bots? And even if this the case i rather spend 10 hours a day and make 360 buck that not make them, and OP is factoring gold farming, he said that items should give you 2x 4x the income at which point you we making 720 buck every day of free money.

Price of gold is "stable" for past week or two because we have coincidence of new patch premiere and banwave, which hit few item farmers but probably wiped out chineese goldfarmers. As soon as Asians are on the move again, goldprice will plummet to floor, and than blizzard will multiply minimum stack by 10 once more. Best sign regarding this was that immediately after last patch there werent any significant rise of price for gold, contrary to what happened in earlier patch (maybe few cents), so dont fool yourself how situation with gold price will develop.

As of me, well i takes that long for me to separate shit, items with some worth for gah and pricely items for rmah from each other, then transfer latter to mule and put them with right price at rmah.

Also there is a problem of possible unpredictable botting crash which could be caused by :
- Bossland being closed by loosing at court with blizzard
- Blizzard developing new methods allowing to wipe out bots so effectively that profitability hits floor
- Drop of demand because ppl doesnt like new patch / xpac (similar to what happened with Cataclysm)
after which you can end up with dozen of computers and several dozens of D3 copies and no money.

You forgot that blizzard take 15% of money when you sell gold, and additional 15% to transfer it to paypal. So Instead of 3.6$/day per bot, you would get 2.6$/day per bot.

Now, let's say you're buying 9 bots, that would cost you 750$ in hardware, ~235$ for demon buddy 1 year license, 360$ for cdkeys (if you're buying for 40$/key), around 30$ per bot for gearing it up so that's an extra 270$.

Total investment for 9 bots should cost you around 1615$.
Considering you're earning 23.4$ (9x2.6$) and let's say that gold price won't drop below 30c, even tho it will probably, but let's imagine it won't, you would need 69days to pay off your investment.

Do you really think you won't get a single ban within 69days?

Please allow me to disagee, maybe in August you could work out decent profit but now....
Prices are 1/10th than before: I could upgrade my gear with 40-50 millions and got items that were hundreds of millions only 1 month ago = Gold value dropping everyday.

So, let's say I want to get 10 new accounts today =500$
Improve my hardware to run them smoothly =500$ (I am conservative)
Level them up by hand, 1 day each, 10 days total
Get services to avoid bans = 50$

Total Cost in the first month = 1050$ plus 10 days leveling cause I don't have anything else to do. :)
Plus Blizzard AH cut as somebody else already noticed....so If you are lucky, u get back your money after 2 months and you start to make profit from the third.

Given the current D3 Economy situation and the recent lack of new players, I would never invest in the game right now.

Just my 2 cents

The 30 cents per million was with the fees taken out I would think. Atm it's around 0.50/M and that's equals to like 0.34 after fees.

We bot for money and you would go and pay for leveling services or hand level?

Lol there's a sucker born every minute.

and when you get banned you lose ur hardware and buddy keys ..... the hardware and buddy keys is one time investment , if you get ban you gonna lose only 270$ for the accounts and thats 12 days of botting if you make only 23,4$ a day , look at the hardware and buddy keys as a investment that payoff each month , and if you get ban in 12 days you are really unlucky or did some dumb shit to get you banned

My point is that it is faster to level up by hand than by bot...
By the way, I am not botting for money. I bot for the fun of cheating Blizzard and for the love of programming profiles and tools to do that, which for me is more fun than actually playing the game!

i had 40 bots running with old sarkoth farming route for gold
now i farm with 8 barbs act3 inferno mp4 and i make twice that much in ?/$

Nice post but as others said above its a highly idealized scenario... we've been getting lucky with the lack of banwaves and the fact so many people are surprisingly still playing this crappy game. I think gold will bottom out in Christmas time and even then it will be impossible to sell unless Blizz drops the floor again.

the bill for electricity is also a factor, depends on the number of pcs.

Spare bots are better to have ready, then rebuilding from zero!
