making gold with Jewelcrafting 4.2

Hey guys i have 525 Mining and 500 JC was wondering in 4.2 what is the best way to maximize profits with GB and these 2 professions. I watched a vid on JC and heard the with all the green gems make the cata green rings and carnelian spikes, and DE for mats and sell those. But i was maybe thinking there could be a better way, Thanks!
